Usher began his tour titled Past Present Future this week with a pair of sold-out concerts Tuesday and Wednesday in Washington, D.C. at the Capital One Arena.
The eight-time Grammy winner, 45, had previously been slated to perform in Atlanta August 14, but missed a trio of concerts after he hurt his neck while preparing for the shows.
‘My hope was that with physical therapy and medical treatment, I would be able to overcome the injury and be ready for opening night,’ the Dallas native, whose full name is Usher Raymond IV, said in a social media statement August 15.
The Yeah! singer said at the time that the neck injury had ‘not healed yet’ and doctors instructed him ‘not to perform any shows.’
Usher will make up the shows at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on December 9, 10 and 12.

Usher’s sets in the nation’s capital extended two hours, and included tracks such as Lovers and Friends, Confessions, Yeah!, and U Don’t Have To Call, according to People.
The Burn vocalist also performed tracks from his most recent album Coming Home, which was released this past February, the outlet reported.
On Wednesday, Usher was accompanied on the state by Washington, D.C.-based music stars such as Wale, Raheem DeVaughn and Sugar Bear of EU, according to the magazine.
Usher and Wale collaborated on the tracks No Hands and The Matrimony, while he sang You with DeVaughn and Da’ Butt with Sugar Bear.
A review posted by Variety’s Shaheem Reid said that the performer did an effective job of showcasing the various ‘eras of his career’ by using ‘an elaborate cube comprised of several huge LED screens that could show one huge image or video, or several smaller ones, on different screens.’
The cube also functioned ‘as a gigantic set-piece,’ according to the piece, including a penthouse and room ‘that alternately evoked a room in a house, a strip club or a dance performance area.’
Reid said that Usher ‘did not seem like a man with a neck injury’ but rather ‘someone in top physical condition’ as he made his way through the physically-demanding, high-energy show.
Usher has concerts slated for Friday and Saturday at the CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore.
