Wizadora star Wendy Van Der Plank is barely recognisable, 30 years after the beloved children’s TV show first hit screens.
The show, which ran from 1993 to 1998, followed the titular character’s life as a trainee wizard who struggles to perform spells when she received her wand.
Wizardora would often break the fourth wall when she would speak to audiences and utter catchphrases including ‘Oh, botheration!’ and ‘Time for a bit of Wizzification!’
When the show first aired, Fawlty Towers’ Connie Booth played Wizadora, yet in 1992, the show was picked up by Meridian Broadcasting and Wendy took over the role.
Now, 25 years after the show came off air Wendy looks totally different, with a kooky hairdo and quirky fashion sense having quit her TV career yet continues in working with community theatre in East Devon.
Here she is! Wendy looks worlds away from her Wizardora self

Wizardora was beloved among 90s kids, who remember the show well.
The theme tune with the words: ‘Wizardora, we adore her’, are iconic, meaning Wendy’s new look will no doubt delight nostalgia lovers.
The beloved kids’ actress looks stunning in a pretty snap, showing her fresh-faced in a silk robe with a stylish choppy fringe.
Another shot meanwhile shows her on-stage in kooky glasses with a tunic and wet-look trousers, with her hair piled high on her head.
A snap from her Twitter meanwhile showed Wendy laughing with a sunhat on and wild curly hair – a far departure from Wizardora’s sleek do.
She went on to star as Sharon in the radio sitcom All That Jazz before taking a backseat from the limelight.
In a 2019 interview with the Midweek Herald, Wendy spoke about her role working at The Beehive, an award-winning community venue in Honiton, East Devon.
She said: ‘I work at The Beehive programming and promoting a mad variety of events there for the good folk of Honiton and beyond.’

She continued: ‘[What I like most about Honiton is] the people. I meet so many characters and I work with a bunch of them too! Our volunteers here are just fab and a great laugh…’
‘I also love the little green spaces in the town and the tiny alleyways.
‘Roderick Butler’s garden is brilliant, take a peek through his railings and you will see a different funny sculpture on his lawn- I saw Nessie there recently!’
