Hunter Schafer has opened up about the future of the hit HBO drama Euphoria.
The 25-year-old actress — who starred as Jules Vaughn in the first two seasons alongside Zendaya, 27 — discussed the show’s fate on the latest episode of the podcast Call Her Daddy.
Schafer acknowledged the series’ delays and revealed that she is unaware of what the next steps are.
‘The real tea is I have no f***ing idea what’s going on, and you can ask literally all of the cast,’ she confessed.
Referring to the sudden deaths of actor Angus Cloud and producer Kevin Turen, she admitted: ‘Obviously I’m still coming to qualms about what’s happened and losing people that we really loved and were a part of this family and everything.’

She continued, ‘If we do go back, that’s going to be tough.’
Hunter also said: ‘I think everyone feels a certain sense of anticipation for if we are supposed to do Season 3.’
Despite the heaviness surrounding the Sam Levinson-created show, the star has hope.
‘I think there’s a world in which we can channel that into making it a beautiful season three if it is supposed to happen, but I think that s**t really threw everyone for a loop,’ she noted.
Finally, she stated, ‘And then there’s all these industry whatever — political things that go into whether or not this is happening, but that’s emotionally… a big part of what’s happening, too.’
Turen passed away after suffering a medical emergency behind the wheel of his Tesla in November 2023. He was 44-years-old.
Cloud died from an ‘accidental overdose’ of cocaine, meth and fentanyl in July 2023 at age 25.
Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films, confirmed in July that season three will start shooting in January 2025.
