Tyra Banks shocked viewers on Wednesday night when she revealed the very surprising Australian band she is a fan of, while presenting at the ARIA Awards.
The US supermodel, 51, appeared at the Hordern Pavilion to present the Best Pop Release category, when she unexpectedly revealed she is a huge fan of an iconic children’s band.
‘I’ve been here around all of you guys, and you’re making me feel so good and welcome,’ Tyra told the crowd.
She added: ‘I met the Wiggles and I’m so excited!’Â
The California-born model revealed she had been living in Sydney for several years, where she had opened her own ice cream store called SMiZE & DREAM.
‘I was in a really bad mood because I had some ice cream that melted,’ she quipped, ahead of presenting the award to Thelma Plum, for her song I’m Sorry, Now Say It Back.

Tyra stunned at the ceremony in a stylish plunging black jumpsuit that channelled Olivia Newton-John in the iconic 1978 musical Grease.Â
She paired the outfit with an eye-popping selection of chunky diamond jewellery worn as bracelets and rings, ensuring all eyes were on her during the exclusive event.
Tyra has been living the Aussie life for the last 18 months, with most fans not knowing she’s been working undercover as a start-up boss Down Under.Â
The American supermodel has been jumping between Los Angeles and Sydney for almost two years, as she worked at launching her ice cream store chain.
Earlier this year, the former America’s Next Top Model host revealed just how she’s managed to blend in with the locals, reported The Daily Telegraph.
She told the publication she and her family enjoy spending their days just hanging out at their local shopping centre and partaking in everyday Aussie activities.
‘We’ll get some breakfast in the mall, then we’ll go to a Hoyts cinema,’ she said.
‘We will get some ice cream at the cinema, see a movie, then we might get a foot massage. Then we’ll have some lunch… Then we go to Target or Kmart.’

Tyra went on to say she loves the Australian Kmart.
Despite walking the runway for luxury fashion houses like Saint Laurent, Chanel and Dior, the supermodel said she thinks the Kmart Down Under is ‘fancy’.
She added that after a bit of shopping, she and her family will go and do the groceries.
‘We’ll do Coles, Woolies, Harris Farm, whatever, and so that is a whole day at the mall and we don’t do that in America,’ she said.
Tyra explained that the ‘mall’ culture in America is a dying pastime because it’s just about shopping for what you ‘want’ instead of what you ‘need’.
