Tyra Banks has announced that she spent a year working on her special innovation – ice cream you can drink.
The 51-year-old American supermodel has been living in Australia for the past two years and opened her ice cream store, SMiZE & DREAM, in the heart of Sydney’s Darling Harbour earlier this year.
In a series of videos shared to TikTok this week, Tyra announced that she had launched her ‘hot ice cream’ drink, called a Hot Mama, at the flagship store.
‘I feel like I’m going crazy. I don’t sleep, because these just keep coming in my head, waking me up,’ Tyra explained in one clip.
‘And bam! This one came to me… hot ice cream. Silky ice cream that you can drink,’ she continued.
‘I’m not talking about a latte, or hot chocolate. I’m talking about hot ice cream. Innovation that took me over a year to get right’.

In a further video, Tyra showed off the drink in her Fairy Dough flavour, based on the Australian classic dessert, fairy bread.
It included a cup of warm, liquid ice cream, topped with cream and sprinkles.
Her legion of fans were unconvinced by the innovation – and some poked fun at the wild way Tyra announced the beverage.
‘Me in some random person’s kitchen at 4am,’ joked one person in the comments on TikTok, with someone else adding, ‘A warm milkshake?’
‘So… melted ice cream in a cup?’ asked another, with one more saying, ‘I seriously can’t tell if this is AI. But it feels AI’.
‘Sorry but hot ice cream is diabolical,’ someone else wrote, while another chimed in, ‘It took a year for her to heat up some ice cream.’
‘WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU,’ said another, referencing the quote Tyra made famous during her tenure as a judge on America’s Next Top Model.
‘Does nursing staff know you have your phone?’ one more wrote with someone else saying, ‘Tyra babe who asked for this’.

‘Tyra runs her business portfolio the way my unmedicated ADHD runs my life,’ joked one more and another added, ‘Tyra honey I just bought you a return ticket to LA.’
‘Tyra Banks terrorising the inhabitants of Australia with confusing desserts,’ another said, while someone else said, ‘Tyra, I simply cannot do this right now babe.’
Others were encouraging, with several insisting Tyra’s eccentric and animated style is part of her charm.
‘This is the most Tyra Banks video ever. Everything about this is Tyra Banks,’ one fan said.
‘Girl you have always been funny. You better get that coin!’ someone else wrote while yet another added, ‘I’m not actually mad at the idea. Push the barriers of what’s already been done.’
Banks recently revealed that she loves frozen desserts so much that she visits three ice cream stores in a single day.
Tyra is such a big fan of the sweet and cold stuff that she has opened her very own ice cream store in Sydney, Australia, where she relocated from America in 2023.
