Derryn Hinch revealed he suffered a horrific accident just before Christmas as he shared photographs of his painful injuries on Boxing Day.
The media personality, 80, took to Facebook to share a photograph of himself and his partner Lynda Stoner on Christmas Day as he gave an insight into their celebrations.
However, Derryn could be seen with huge bruises on his face in the picture and he shared in a caption how he ended up with two black eyes after suffering a fall.
The accident happened just days before Christmas but he waited until Boxing Day to show the extent of his injuries because he didn’t want to share ‘bad news’ over the festive period.
Alongside the picture of himself and Lynda, he penned: ‘I didn’t post this pic earlier because I did not want to pass on bad news at Christmas.
‘I had a pre-Xmas fall, smacked my nose and, as a consequence, blacked both my eyes.

Despite his painful injuries, Derryn appeared to be in good spirits on Christmas Day and he flashed a huge smile while having lunch with Lynda.
Derryn and Lynda were first engaged to be married in 1981 but sadly went their separate ways.
However, they rekindled their romance 35 years later in 2016 and have been going strong ever since.
His shocking fall comes just weeks after the former Senator of Australia was admitted to hospital with a heart issue.
He had been suffering with atrial fibrillation, also known as an irregular heart beat, and underwent electroshock therapy to reset his heart rhythm.
After being diagnosed a month ago, Derryn was treated at a Melbourne hospital and released the same day.
‘I found myself getting short of breath and I thought “this is not normal”, so I went to my doctor and had an ECG (electrocardiogram)’ he told the Herald Sun.

Derryn also recently underwent five weeks of daily radiation treatment amid a ‘pretty serious’ battle with skin cancer after doctors found a melanoma on his forehead (pictured)
‘My cardiologist booked me into hospital and on Thursday they gave me an electric shock to the heart, which is pretty scary, but it worked’ he continued.
‘It put my heart back into a regular rhythm and I will just see how it improves my breathing in the weeks ahead.’
Derryn also recently underwent five weeks of daily radiation treatment amid a ‘pretty serious’ battle with skin cancer.
A melanoma just below his hairline was first discovered by doctors in February and he had it removed, but medics weren’t able to take out the entire area.
He then visited Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre to have a further operation to remove the melanoma and he is now undergoing radiation as ‘insurance’.
‘It is not good. I have had two operations on my face and they still have to do radiation,’ he told the Herald Sun.
‘The only good news is they looked at a spot that I was operated on about eight years ago on the other side (of his forehead) and that is clear.
‘I tick off each day and once that day is gone, it is gone. It is pretty serious but as someone once said, that’s life.’
