Men have dominated this year’s Television and Radio Industries Club Awards with just six of the 28 nominees for the major categories women.
Last year, women made up 35 percent of the talent represented in categories such as Radio Personality, Soap Actor, TV personality and Radio Show.
But the number of women recognised in the nominations for this year’s TRIC Awards, which honours television and radio’s biggest names, has fallen to 21 percent.
X Factor star and ‘Mumfluencer’ Stacey Solomon, 34, was the only female nominated for the TV Personality award last year but lost out to Bradley Walsh and this year, no women have been put forward for the gong.
ITV’s Good Morning Britain veteran, Susanna Reid, 53, is the only woman to have been put forward for the News Presenter award in both 2023 and 2024.

Last year the Reform UK leader, Nigel Farage, won the gong for his presenting role on GB News and Ms Reid will again go up against him and Eamonn Holmes for a second year in a row.
Meanwhile, BBC Radio 2’s Sara Cox is the only woman to have been nominated both years but last year she was joined by Vanessa Feltz and Kate Garraway. All three women lost out to the club’s president and Capital FM host, Roman Kemp.
And only Ms Cox, 49, has endured the cull of female presenters represented in the awards this year as she is nominated alongside Chris Moyles, Ken Bruce and Roman Kemp.

Britain’s Got Talent judge, Amanda Holden, 53, has seen her Heart Breakfast show with Jamie Theakston recognised along with Roman Kemp and Ken Bruce’s daytime slots.
Only podcasts hosted by men have been nominated this year including The Rest is History by historians Dominic Sandbrook and Tom Holland while reality stars Pete Wicks and Sam Thompson’s podcast are also listed.
Meanwhile, last year’s Soap Actors category boasted two women – Coronation Street’s Charlotte Gordon and EastEnders Danielle Harold won the award.
But only Maureen Lipman is nominated this year; 78-year-old Dame Lipman has got a nod for her enduring role as Evelyn Plummer on Coronation Street.

The TRIC Award nominees were selected following a five-week public vote across social channels, which amassed 1.3 million votes.
A TRIC spokesperson told the Mail: ‘Diversity and inclusion are at the core of our values here at TRIC, as highlighted in the TRIC Awards Voting Framework, and are a key consideration when pulling together the long list.
‘The TRIC Awards are a 100 percent public vote and we make every effort to ensure this is a robust and transparent process.’
Last year’s awards saw controversy when Mr Farage blasted the event for ‘deleting’ a tweet that announced him as winner of News Presenter of the Year.
The former Brexit Party leader accused the organisation of taking down the congratulatory message because he ‘committed the cardinal sin of questioning the Barb figures.’
The ‘Barb’ figures show the TV ratings of programmes and are compiled daily by the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board.
Mr Farage criticised the way viewing numbers are collated during his acceptance speech and on his show, accusing the industry of ‘marking their own homework’ and being ‘out of touch.’
The former UKIP leader said GB News ‘will be complaining in the strongest terms.’
This year TRIC is celebrating its emerald anniversary, 55 years of the Awards – and the star-studded event will be hosted by TRIC President, Roman Kemp and feature a live performance by Pixie Lott.
