Young died after a crash on the 134 Freeway when his vehicle was hit by a car traveling the wrong way down the road, his representative has confirmed.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, whilst the other motorist was taken to hospital.
Young had roles in Grey’s Anatomy, Boy Meets World and Charlie’s Angels but in later years became well known as a red carpet photographer.

Young’s General Hospital co-star Parry Shen led tributes to the actor as he shared four photos on his X (formally Twitter) account including photos Young had taken himself.
Shen – who plays Brad on the soap opera – wrote: ‘Brad Everett Young @BradEYoung was one of the kindest & generous people I have ever met.
‘But the one trait that made him truly stand out in this business often filled with cynicism, was his indomitable positivity. A huge loss. Rest in peace, friend.’
Another star on the longtime ABC series Chris L. McKenna – who plays Jack on General Hospital – also took to the microblogging site to write: ‘I’m in complete shock. We just did a shoot a couple weeks ago and we texted this weekend.
‘Brad was such a talented, funny, warm, caring guy. He donated his time, his talent, he raised money for underserved schools and the world is darker today without his light. Rest easy, bud.’
McKenna also took to Instagram to share several photos that Young had taken of him a few weeks previously.
Lilly Melgar, known for playing Lily in General Hospital, added: ‘Rest in paradise, my love. My heart aches as I lose another friend. This is so incredibly tragic… My favorite photographer in L.A., my buddy — a good seed.’
One of Young’s friends Johnny Chhun Tang shared a selfie he had taken with Young and pals with the caption: ‘Remembering a friend we’re gonna miss Brad Everett Young.

They wrote: ‘I am incredibly sad and heartbroken to hear that @bradley206 has passed. He was one of the first photographers to give us some official shoots with Tabyana and Nicholas.
‘He kept the Sprina fandom fed and brought so much joy to our community. I’m sure I was one of his best customers because I never missed a chance to grab his pics [laughing and smiling emojis] (just a few pictured here, as well as the shot I put in a frame). But, in all seriousness, he was a kind soul and though I never met him in person, he was always so kind when I interacted with him online.

Young founded a grassroots organization, Dream Loud Official, which is dedicated to restoring and preserving music and art programs in school across the US.
‘He lived his mission of keeping creativity alive, and his legacy will continue through Dream Loud Official,’ Christensen said.
Virginia-born Young came to Los Angeles with plans to attend medical school but decided instead to pursue acting.
‘L.A. was just the place where I could make those decisions with all the job opportunities the town offered,’ he said in a 2015 interview.
‘In the first month here, I went out on my first audition for a TV series, booked it, joined the Screen Actors Guild, and the rest was history.
‘I absolutely fell in love with everything in this business and the journey and strength it takes to accomplish what you want in it.’
