Trevor St. John bids farewell to Y&R character Tucker after two years

Trevor St. John is exiting The Young And The Restless after a two-year run.

The 52-year-old veteran soap star announced his departure on social media Tuesday, bidding farewell to his character Tucker McCall and expressing gratitude to the show’s longtime fans.

‘As you well know, Tuckers come and Tuckers go, and so the cycle continues… this Tucker is in his go phase…’ he began his X thread.

‘I thank each and every member of the wonderful cast, the crew, the directors, the producers and production staff, and CBS/Sony for the great experience from day one to the last. I feel so fortunate to have played such a terrific role.’

St. John has portrayed billionaire tycoon Tucker since 2022, a role previously played by William Russ and Stephen Nichols.

He added: ‘Most importantly, I want to offer my heartfelt gratitude to you the…#YoungandRestless fans. THANK YOU!’

The X thread continued: ‘Tucker might be gone for the time being, but I’m not going anywhere.’

St. John then informed his fans that he has several projects ‘in the works,’ including his latest movie, A good Enough Day, now available on Tubi.

The actor did not disclose the air date of his final episode on the CBS series or hint at how his storyline as Tucker will conclude.

The character’s latest plot line involved faking a heart attack.

Prior to his role on The Young And The Restless, St. John gained fame for his ten-year stint as Todd Manning/Victor Lord, Jr. on ABC’s One Life To Live.

Recently, he was featured on ABC’s Promised Land.

His diverse acting portfolio also includes a regular role on Roswell, New Mexico and performances in Patrick Wang’s acclaimed independent dramas, In the Family and The Grief of Others.

St. John’s announcement comes after his co-star Eric Braeden gave a health update six months after declaring that he was officially cancer-free.

The 83-year-old actor was open about his road to recovery during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.

‘My cancer diagnosis right now is on hold, as it were, and [I’m] very grateful for very good doctors and very good modern cancer treatment which has improved enormously.

‘People shouldn’t be afraid of it, you know. Just go and have your cystoscopy, have your colonoscopy, have you heart checked out. Do all that, do it in time.’

Back in August, the Titanic actor first revealed the good news for his fans during a Facebook Live session.

He thanked his followers for their thoughts and prayers, adding that they helped him find strength during his health battle.

‘I can tell you it obviously has helped because I had my last cystoscopy two days ago — that’s when they thread a camera into your bladder — and I am cancer-free,’ the soap opera star revealed.
