Among a sea of lavish floral arrangements, Taylor Swift’s American footballer boyfriend Travis Kelce got down on one knee, just weeks away from their second anniversary as a couple.
The proposal, which marks the next chapter of Ms Swift’s well-documented love life, was of course captured on camera – with a series of snaps posted to her 280million followers on Instagram.
A caption alongside them read: ‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married’, followed by a firework emoji.
Playing in the background is Ms Swift’s hit So High School, which she wrote for Kelce, 35, and tells of her huge love for him.
The song’s touching lyrics include: ‘I feel so high school every time I look at you, I wanna find you in a crowd just to hide from you. And in the blink of a crinklin’ eye I’m sinkin’, our fingers entwined.’

While there was much to take in with the beautiful floral scene carefully curated by Kansas City Chiefs player Kelce, one element of the pictures was completely unmissable – Ms Swift’s ring.
A huge rock, clearly visible on the pop star’s ring finger, was created especially for her by Florida-based designer Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewellery, I’m told.
The diamond is a super expensive Old Mine Brilliant Cut and is thought to be worth anything up to £500,000.
Ms Swift, 35 – who is estimated to have a £1.2billion fortune, according to Forbes – posted a series of five photographs which showed the proposal unfolding.
The first is sports star Kelce down on one knee in front of an archway made up of pink and white flowers, including roses and peonies.

Ms Swift, wearing a £395 striped silk blend dress by Polo Ralph Lauren, is seen with her hands on her new fiance’s face as she accepts his proposal.
Next they are seen with their foreheads touching. Then fans are treated to a close-up of the ring which shows the impressive diamond sitting on a gold band.
The only other jewellery in the shot is her Cartier Santos Demoiselle watch, a present from Kelce last Christmas. The ecstatic couple are also seen embracing before they are finally pictured sitting on a chair with Ms Swift’s legs resting across Kelce’s lap.
While it is clear he put a lot of effort into ensuring the proposal was completely perfect, Kelce managed to keep it very quiet. It even came as a surprise to some of Ms Swift’s closest aides, including her British publicist.

Ms Swift’s fans, affectionately known as ‘Swifties’ are now looking forward to a wedding that will surely be one of the most anticipated in showbusiness history.Their romantic journey has been quite the ride.

Ms Swift would often be seen supporting Kelce’s games, while he also joined her as she embarked on her mammoth global Eras tour. It is indeed a happy ending to the love story of Nashville girl Ms Swift’s quest for love.
She has struggled to hold down a relationship since she catapulted to fame 18 years ago.
Before she met Kelce – who is worth around £67million – the star was in a tricky romance with British singer Matt Healy, the frontman of rock band The 1975.
But it was another Englishman – actor Joe Alwyn, with whom she quietly lived in Hampstead, north London – who fans always thought she would settle down with. They dated for seven years.
Ms Swift, whose hits include Shake It Off and Love Story, also had brief relationships with Harry Styles and Tom Hiddleston.

Ms Swift’s fans are already speculating as to when ‘mini Travis and Taylors’ will arrive.
Before that, however, Ms Swift has a new album – her twelfth, named The Life Of A Showgirl – to promote, which she revealed earlier this month on her fiance’s podcast, New Heights.
This was, as one music industry insider mused, ‘pretty good timing for the engagement.’
