The 30-year-old missed out on the Best Actor gong to a stunned and emotional Michael B Jordan, while also facing several jabs at his expense over his controversial comments about opera and ballet.

But fans have become convinced that one person who was enjoying the Marty Supreme star's misfortune was Travis, 34, who shares two children with Timothée's girlfriend Kylie - Stormi, eight, and four-year-old Aire.

The rapper took to his Instagram Stories after the , to share a photo of Michael, 39, wiping away his tears as he accepted the trophy for his dual roles in Sinners.

He looked in disbelief as he took to the stage and was greeted by last year's winner , after triumphing over Timothée, as well as Leonardo ,  and Wagner Moura.

He stars in the Ryan Coogler-helmed film as twin brothers, who return to their hometown to start again only to discover that an even greater evil - in the form of vampires - is waiting to welcome them back.

After Travis shared the snap, fans soon took to social media to insist that rather that being a congratulatory post for the Black Panther star, it was instead intended to mock Timothée's snub.

He first struck up an on/off romance with Kylie in 2017, before they finally called it quits three years ago, with the reality star moving on with Timothée later that year.

And Travis - real name Jacques Webster - hasn't shied away from dissing his ex's new man in the past, previously appearing to reference him in his track Meltdown, by referencing Timothée's role in Wonka.

Fans took to X and Reddit to react to this latest supposed dig from the star, with many praising it as 'iconic' while others branded it 'petty'.

They wrote: 'Travis Scott is a professional hater I love it'; 'Timothee Chalamet looks miserable and Travis Scott was shading him and is there too.. help this man';

'Okay, please this is so iconic lmao. Because tell me when was the last time Travis Scott care about the Oscars?'; 'Bro needs to move on, hating on the future stepdad of your kids is petty';

'Travis Scott posting mbj is so f***ing funny like brah'; 'I peeped that s**t on my insta feed. Bro still p***ed Chalamet snatched his girl up';

'he's so happy timmy did not win.'; 'Last year he wanted Adrien Brody over Timmy, this year he supporting MBJ. Travis don’t f**k with Timmy confirmed.'

However, Travis risked an awkward run-in with the object of his mockery on Sunday, as he later arrived at Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, which was also attended by a very-loved up Kylie and Timothee.
