The Traitors viewers are convinced over a ‘significant’ part of the BBC show which has appeared several times and could be a huge link to an upcoming twist.

This series of the hit show hosted by Claudia Winkleman has been filled with plot twists from a mother-daughter duo, a secret relationship and the first secret Traitor.

However, fans are now convinced the answers could be right under the faithfuls noses as the camera has panned away to a bookcase multiple times showing a book titled, ‘Who’s who 1934’.

BBC viewers quickly took to X to point out the mysterious book that has been shown multiple times since the series first kicked-off last week.

They wrote: ‘Am guessing this book has a list of who already knew who and who is related to who;

‘Why do they keep showing this book?; This book keeps being shown. I’m pretty sure the game plan is right there for the taking… 19 assumed “Faithfuls”, 3 known “Traitors”, 4 actual Traitors’.

Earlier in the episode, fans and the Traitors finally found out who the first ever secret Traitor was as Fiona Hughes was unveiled in the red clock.

Fiona, a local government worker from Swansea, who is nicknamed ‘lovely Fiona’ and described ‘lively, bubbly and full of fun,’ was revealed as the scheming, backstabbing contestant after host Claudia handed her the role in the first episode.

Her friendly demeanour had many fooled and as she was unveiled, viewers saw her make a vow to Claudia at the time that she ‘will do my best to be as treacherous as possible. This is just wonderful. I’m drunk on power!’

Fiona’s fellow Traitors Stephen Libby, 32, and Rachel Duffy, 42, were left in disbelief at her identity.

But she gleefully and smugly told her fellow cast members: ‘I was wonderful, wasn’t I? Hollywood is beckoning, I can feel it… I have basically done your job for you for the past few nights.’

Speaking about Fiona, Rachel said: ‘Fiona coming in makes me nervous, she is going to ruffle a few feathers,’ with Stephen adding, ‘She is playing a very good game.’

Indeed, for it was her who turned on fellow Traitor Hugo Bailey, 51, in episode three, which saw him banished from the Scottish castle.

Elsewhere during the show, personal trainer Ross Garshong was voted off during a surprise morning round table.

But that wasn’t the only shock – just moments after his fellow contestant, psychologist Dr Ellie Buckley revealed another bombshell – that he is her boyfriend.

Ross, 37, was banished following the breakfast meet-up up but when the camera panned to an emotional Ellie, she revealed: ‘I’m really sad to see him go, especially because Ross is actually my boyfriend.’

Suspicion about the two knowing each other began the moment they boarded the train in the Scottish Highlands in the first episode, which was screened last Wednesday.

The pair, both from London, were sitting opposite one another and were deemed by viewers as being too familiar for supposedly meeting for the first time.

And earlier this week a group photo – which includes Ellie and Ross – from a work trip in June 2024 also surfaced, confirming that they knew each other before the show.

They have also both posted holiday snaps from the same Tenerife location since filming ended last May.

They are the second confirmed secret connection on the show, as it was revealed in the first episode that Judy Wilson, 60, who has been banished, and Roxy, 32, are mother and daughter.

Ross said he had been ‘dealt a bad hand’ after coming under suspicion on day one for knowing Netty Österberg, 42.

The pair revealed they had mutual friends when they both lived in London, but hadn’t seen each other in over 10 years, so the reunion came as a surprise to both.

When conducting background checks, BBC bosses found that Ms Österberg and Mr Garshong followed each other on social media, but the link was tenuous, and they didn’t want to not cast them because of it.

Mike Cotton, Creative Director at Studio Lambert, told the Daily Mail that neither player was warned ahead of the opening scene, as they wanted to watch their natural reaction on-screen for the first time and see how it played out in the game.

The Traitors continues on January 8 at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
