In the clip, the 32-year-old actor portrayed a young man dealing with both the constant music playing in his head and his feelings for two potential romantic interests.
In addition to starring and directing the project, the YouTube personality – who recently accompanied his girlfriend during a getaway in Miami – also co-wrote its screenplay alongside Dan Lagana.
The trailer begins with Rudy first encountering Isabella, played by Mendes, in a seafood market, and the pair share an extended glance before he is hit in the head with a fish.
Rudy later meets Haley, portrayed by Francesca Reale, at a diner, and although she attempts to encourage him to focus on his career prospects, he is constantly distracted by the rhythms present in his surroundings.

After being wheeled through a hospital, Rudy checks to see if his mom, played by his real-life mother Maria Mancuso, is eavesdropping on him, which she confirms.
He eventually meets up with Isabella at a park, and she gives him an interested look. after he explains: ‘For as long as I can remember, everyday regular sounds, I turn into rhythm.’
Rudy goes on to voice his concerns about his two romantic interests to food truck owner Anwar, played by J.B. Smoove, who encourages his young friend to ‘tell me less’ after laying out his situation.
Following a heated argument where Isabella tells Rudy that she does not ‘think you actually know what you want,’ he begins venting to a puppet and expresses that he feels as if ‘everyone’s pulling me in different directions.’
A rapid-fire montage then ensues, during which Haley leaves Rudy at the diner while he implores her to stay.

Development on Musica was initially revealed to the public in 2022, when Mendes signed on as the feature’s female lead.

Mancuso gave a statement to Deadline to express that he was ‘beyond excited to have the wildly gifted mind of Camila join this special journey.’
Producer Mary Viola went on to describe her as ‘one of the most talented actresses of her generation.’
The YouTube personality also spoke briefly about his directorial debut, which he characterized as ‘an authentic Brazilian-American story through the eyes of a synesthete.’
