Married At First Sight star Tracey Jewel has shared heartbreaking details of her battle with facial paralysis after undergoing a salivary gland removal surgery.Ā 

The businesswoman, 40, who rose to fame on Nine’s social experiment in 2017, took to Instagram last week with photo of herself lying in bed with her son Frankie, two, with a bandage on her neck.Ā Ā 

‘Recovering from having my salivary gland removed this week has not been easy,’ the mother-of-two began.Ā 

‘My speech has been affected and I have temporary facial paralysis that will last 3-6 months,’ she lamented.Ā 

The reality television star then praised her son for bringing her ‘so much joy’ by relaxing with her in bed during her convalescence.Ā

To make matters worse, Tracey also revealed she recently suffered a bout of pneumonia.Ā 

‘You never know whatā€™s around the corner and after recovering from pneumoniaĀ 2 months ago I certainly didnā€™t expect this spanner in the works!’ she wrote.Ā 

Remaining positive, Tracey said that she’s now playing the ‘waiting game’ until she gets the results back from her surgery in a week.Ā Ā

‘So for now itā€™s badĀ Christmas movies and boost juice smoothies!,’ she mused, adding: ‘Thanks for all the well wishes everyone hope everyone is staying well and safe this holidays!’Ā

Tracey said she hadn’t added she hasn’t been able to share her health journey because she has not confirmed what is ailing her.

‘I did lose a crazy 12 kilos in less than a month and ended up in hospital with pneumonia and now I’m undergoing biopsies and testing which I’m waiting for the results,’ she explained.

‘For the first time in a long time I’m doing a break. I’m creating space to just be and not do. It’s going to be tough to realise we are worthy no matter what and no matter what we do.’

Tracey welcomed her son Frankie in March 2021 with her husband and high school sweetheart Nathan Constable.Ā
