The top three finalists of American Idol are heading to the final episode of season 22 this upcoming Sunday.
Ahead of the highly anticipated finale, many fans took to social media to share their thoughts on who they are rooting for to take home the grand prize.
Abi Carter, Jack Blocker and Will Moseley are the three remaining contestants, and one of them does appear to be fan-favorite viewers are hopeful will be the next American Idol winner.
After the penultimate episode on Sunday — in which the top five contestants were narrowed down to three during the Disney Night theme — social media users took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to voice their thoughts.
When Triston Harper and Emmy Russell were unfortunately eliminated, many fans agreed that Carter, Blocker and Moseley were worthy competitors and who they were expecting to be the final three.
However, viewers on social media also had differing opinions at the end of the 22nd season of American Idol — which will see Katy Perry departing as a judge after seven years.

A majority of them, however, shared a similar sentiment that they believed Carter would be the winner at the end.
At the end of the last episode, fans also noticed they heard people chanting her name — which they declared an obvious sign that she is the popular vote.
After the previous episode, other fans also expressed their desire for them to see either Blocker or Moseley take home the cash prize and get the highly sought-after recording deal.
‘I’m cool with the top three in American Idol,’ one fan shared. ‘While I loved all of them, I think we picked the best three to move forward. I love this show.’ The X user added: ‘I’m thinking Abi wins it all, but I love Jack & Will. I don’t care. They are all going to be stars.’
‘This is the right final 3,’ one viewer tweeted. ‘Abi or Jack should win though.’
Another X user concurred and wrote: ‘I think the voters made the right call with the top 3. I’m hoping Jack or Abi win this season!!’
One viewer joked that American Idol should ‘just shut it down’ because they believed Blocker ‘is going to win and should!’

Another fan shared their excitement for a special performance by Cece Winas during the finale and shared that they were ‘really rooting for’ Carter to win.

Moseley sang Born To Be Wild from D3: The Mighty Ducks and The Ballad of the Lonesome Cowboy from Toy Story 4.
The finale American Idol airs live on Sunday, May 19 at 5:00 p.m. PT on ABC and will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
The three-hour grand final will feature Jon Bon Jovi — who appears to be fans’ top contender to succeed Perry — as he makes an appearance as a guest mentor on the long-running music reality competition series.
There will also be special performances form Nick Fradiani, New Kids On The Block, Jason Mraz, Hootie And The Blowfish, Cece Winans, James Bay, Wynnona Judd, Seal, Bishop Briggs and Cody Johnson.
