Tony Armstrong has opened up about his new romance with musician Rona Glynn-McDonald after announcing their relationship on Instagram last week.
The ABC New Breakfast sports presenter told Daily Mail Australia at the 2023 TikTok Awards things are getting serious between the couple and he is happy the relationship has been embraced by his fans and followers.
‘It’s just nice that people know about it now,’ Tony, 34, said.
‘We’ve been together for a while now. I’m happy. [Life] has just been good lately.’
Armstrong also revealed his plans to spend Christmas and New Year’s with Rona and their families.

‘It’s just nice that people know about it now,’ Tony, 34, told Daily Mail Australia at the TikTok Awards on Wednesday night
‘I’m gonna go away with my girlfriend, with our families, so that should be nice. And I’m just gonna do nothing.’
‘Sit on my a**e and do nothing,’ he added.
While Armstrong kept mum about his Christmas gift for Rona, his excitement was evident.
‘We’ve been together for a while now. I’m happy [life] has just been good lately,’ he gushed
When asked about dating apps, Armstrong laughed, noted it’s been a long time since he’s used them
‘I’ve been thinking about it, but I can’t tell ya, cause then she’d know, You’re trying to get a gotcha moment,’ he laughed.
Reflecting on the past year, Armstrong downplayed the notion of busyness, focusing instead on the positive strides everyone is making.
His approach to life is laid-back yet passionate, ‘I’m a sucker for red wine, but I do love Negronis. Love Negronis. I’m actually getting right into Moscow mules lately [too].’

Armstrong, known for his charismatic presence, shared his excitement about hosting the TikTok Awards alongside Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield and TikTok star Kat Clark.
The chemistry between Armstrong and co-host Chatfield was the talk of the night.
‘Abbie’s brilliant. I think she’s super smart,’ he gushed of his co-host Abbie Chatfield. ‘She is really funny, and she works really hard.’

‘Kat’s [also] brilliant, she works really hard, got a young family, and so it’s great to be able to come together and learn different styles from different people.’
As for the future, he teased some surprises in 2024.
‘I’ve been working on some stuff that I think will surprise some people, give them a smile,’ he said.
