Toni Collette had cause for concern this weekend after she woke up with a mysterious black eye.
The Australian actress, 51, who recently jetted Paris ahead of filming her new comedy flick A French Pursuit, woke up on Saturday looking worse for wear after discovering a dark mark around her eye.
Posting to Instagram Stories, the Hereditary star shared a mirror selfie showing herself looking tired and confused in a grey hoodie.
‘I’m jet lagged and woke up with a bit of a black eye?’ she wrote beneath the image.
‘How why how why why?’ she added, concluding her post with a panda face emoji.

Luckily, the black eye didn’t dampen her spirits, as Toni later shared a photo of herself enjoying dinner at a local restaurant with Twilight filmmaker Catherine Hardwicke and producer Christopher Simon.

A French Pursuit is described as a ‘reimagining ‘ of Caroline Vignal’s 2020 French hit My Donkey, My Lover & I (Antoinette Dans Les Cévennes).
It is a whimsical tale about a free-spirited woman looking for love who ends up going on a journey of self-discovery.
Toni will play the lead role of Zoe Turner, a quirky British art teacher who falls in love with Jean-Louis.
The couple’s plans for a romantic getaway are however ruined when Jean-Louis has to join his family on donkey trek in the south of France, leaving Zoe heartbroken.
Thanks to her mother’s encouragement, Zoe decides to embark on a dangrous journey following Jean-Louis on donkey-back
