Toni Collette Debuts Bold Sheer Look on Red Carpet

She is one of Australia’s most recognisable and successful actresses.

And on Tuesday, Toni Collette revealed her new look as she attended the Wayward Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.

The 52-year-old ditched her brunette locks for a light blonde colour as she walked the red carpet.

The actress curled her hair and swept her voluminous locks to one side for the movie premiere.

The Muriel’s Wedding star also showed off her unique sense of style as she stepped out in a sheer floral top and matching skirt.

She accessorised the dramatic look with a gold clutch and wore strappy beige heels.

Toni wore a light makeup palette consisting of a dewy foundation, nude lip, smokey eye and mascara.

The actress famously got her big break in 1994’s Muriel’s Wedding.

After the success of Muriel’s Wedding, which grossed AUS $16 million and $15 million in the US, she went on to star in hit films including The Sixth Sense, which won her an Oscar nomination.

She has also had starring turns in About a Boy, Little Miss Sunshine and Knives Out.

Toni’s latest role is in Mickey 17, directed by Bong Joon Ho, whose black-comedy thriller Parasite swept the 2020 Oscars.

She stars in the new movie alongside Naomi Ackie and Robert Pattinson.

Robert stars as an ‘expendable’ member of a space mission, who gets chosen for dangerous tasks as he can be renewed, even if he dies, with his memories intact.

The movie also stars the likes of Mark Ruffalo, Anamaria Vartolome and Steven Yeun.

It is based on the 2022 novel Mickey 7 by Edward Ashton, with director Bong explaining one key difference between the book and the novel at the panel.

‘It’s based on the novel Mickey 7, but we made it Mickey 17. The number is the number of times he dies,’ the filmmaker previously explained.

‘I kill him 10 times more. It’s a story of a simple man. It’s a sci-fi movie. It’s hard to say sci-fi — it’s a human story,’ Bong said.

In March, Toni was also in London to start filming a new top-secret project.
