Tom Holland Unrecognizable in Aging Prosthetics for LEGO Short Film

Tom Holland looked unrecognizable as he transformed into multiple different characters in a new short film for LEGO

The Marvel star, 29, appeared in the brand’s ‘Never Stop Playing’ film, released earlier this week, where he portrayed nine different people with the help of prosthetics.

The actor — who recently opened up about his struggle with ADHD and dyslexia — first appears as a space marine, quickly realizing he should never simply follow orders and abandon the fun of play.

It’s a theme which continues throughout a whirlwind of other scenes, as he also appears as a professional soccer player, an inventor, a senior citizen, a toddler, a LEGO mini figure, a goateed artist and then a grumpy executive.

Zendaya’s fiancé looked particularly unlike his iconic Spider-Man character, as he channeled the executive by wearing a fat suit and a shaggy wig.

He also thrilled fans by channeling a quirky artist, wearing a colorful floral jacket, a goatee, and his hair pulled into a man bun.

He was also tough to recognize in his role of senior citizen, as he watered a garden wearing a white cap over his silver-hair wig, a pair of glasses, and a zip-up sweater.

His brothers, Sam and Harry, both 26, were also seen in the video.

‘I loved building with LEGO bricks as a child. My brothers and I would create our own wild worlds, turning the living room into a prehistoric jungle with our LEGO dinosaur set or set up racing tracks for our LEGO cars!’ Tom shared in a statement.

‘It was fun to relive those memories on set. Becoming an official ‘Playmaker’ is very cool. No matter how busy life gets, I’ve never stopped playing…and I don’t plan to anytime soon.’

‘I hope that this short film I did with the LEGO Group demonstrates the idea that to play is a way of expressing who we are no matter what age,’ he went on.

‘For me, it’s always been an important element of exploring the world and embracing the environment I’m in, Whether I’m on set or just hanging out with my brother and mates, I try to bring an element of play into everything I do.’

It comes after Holland opened up about his daily struggle with ADHD and dyslexia as he revealed his diagnosis for the first time in a candid admission.

The Spider-Man actor explained that he can find situations at work, such as character building ‘intimidating’ due to his conditions.

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder can cause a person to have trouble with things like concentrating and sitting still, according the NHS.

Dyslexia is a common learning difficulty that mainly causes problems with reading, writing and spelling. ‘I think it really does help,’ Tom told IGN, when asked what the importance of play and having hobbies meant to him.

‘I have ADHD and I’m dyslexic, and I find sometimes when someone gives me a blank canvas that it can be slightly intimidating.

‘And sometimes you are met with those challenges when developing a character.’

Tom has not opened up about his learning difficulties in the past but according to Golexic, his dyslexia affects his reading and writing.

They explained of his condition: ‘Despite facing difficulties in school, Tom’s dyslexia did not hold him back. He used his creativity and determination to excel in other areas, developing a strong work ethic that has served him well in his acting career.

‘He had to persevere through difficulties, turning his challenges into resilience: a strength that many dyslexic children develop to cope with their schooling years.

‘In fact, he credits his dyslexia for helping him become a better actor, saying that it has enhanced his creativity and intuition, allowing him to approach roles in a unique way.’
