‘And sometimes you are met with those challenges when developing a character.’
Tom has not opened up about his learning difficulties in the past but according to Golexic, his dyslexia affects his reading and writing.
They explained of his condition: ‘Despite facing difficulties in school, Tom’s dyslexia did not hold him back. He used his creativity and determination to excel in other areas, developing a strong work ethic that has served him well in his acting career.
‘He had to persevere through difficulties, turning his challenges into resilience: a strength that many dyslexic children develop to cope with their schooling years.
‘In fact, he credits his dyslexia for helping him become a better actor, saying that it has enhanced his creativity and intuition, allowing him to approach roles in a unique way.’
Tom recently starred in a new short film for Lego and embodied a varied cast of characters.
Tom first appears as a space marine, quickly realising he should never simply follow orders and abandon the fun of play.
It’s a theme which continues throughout a whirlwind of other scenes, as he also appears as a professional soccer player, an inventor, a senior citizen, a toddler, a LEGO minifigure, a goateed artist and then a grumpy executive.

Fans were left divided after Tom unveiled a first glimpse of his updated costume for the upcoming sequel Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The actor – who officially kicked off filming for the new MCU project in Glasgow in August – appeared in a short clip uploaded to the movie’s social media last month.
The star was seen standing front of a large doorway that began to open up with his back initially towards the camera.
Tom then turned around and as the room became brighter, fans were able to see his new Spider-Man suit.
As instrumental music played in the background, he paused and questioned, ‘We ready?’ before bringing his gaze back to directly look at the camera. The reel concluded as he ran off, with the movie’s title appearing on the screen.
Not long after the video was shared, social media users flocked over to Reddit to share their thoughts on the latest costume.
The suit contained colours of both red and blue, while a black spider emblem was embroidered on his chest.
Tom’s suit has altered over the course of the three previous films he has starred in for the franchise including Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).
