Tom Holland dropped a huge hint that he was secretly planning to propose to Zendaya, just weeks before he popped the question.
The Hollywood actress made her first public appearance on Monday after she launched her new engagement to longtime boyfriend Tom, both 28, at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards the day before.
After shocking fans with a dazzling rock on her finger, fans have tried to work out the hints that Tom was preparing to get down on one knee.
But no one spotted Tom’s obvious hint during his appearance on Nick Grimshaw’s Dish Podcast in December 2024, where he revealed he was spending Christmas with Zendaya’s family.
The actor had reportedly asked Zendaya’s father Kazembe Ajamu Coleman for his blessing, so was perfect timing to pop the question in front of her family.
Tom told Nick: ‘I’m going to be in America this year, I’m going to be with my girlfriend’s family, which will be fun.

‘Where we’ll be will be a secret. I’ll know where we’re going.’
Tom also hoped he and Zendaya would start merging their families at Christmas’ together.
He added: ‘What we’d like to start doing, is rather than spending it with each family each year, is bring the families together.
‘That’s what I think we want to do next time. Because we’re both actors, we’re terrible at organising things, so it hasn’t happened yet. The thoughts there, the idea has been planted.’
Zendaya shocked her fans when she arrived at the Golden Globe Awards, where her film Challengers was nominated for several awards, while sporting her new diamond engagement ring.
And now she has ‘gotten everything she dreamed of,’ according to sources who say that ‘starting a family’ is a top priority for the pair once they tie the knot.
The question was popped ‘between Christmas and New Year’s,’ TMZ reported on Monday after the Dune actress flashed her ring.

‘The proposal was sweet and romantic and happened over the holidays,’ the insider dished. ‘He did it the old-fashioned way and got permission from her folks. Everyone is thrilled.’
The source continued: ‘They are the most normal couple at home, and she is ready to spend her life with him.
‘She has gotten everything she dreamed of and marrying Tom and starting a family is next on her list.’
The Spider-Man actor has been in a relationship with his costar Zendaya since 2021 and the pair own a $3.7 million home together in London’s leafy Richmond.
Opening up about the star’s decision to reveal her ring at the Sunday night’s star-studded award ceremony, the insider explained: ‘Zendaya knew what she was doing when she wore that ring, and she did not care. She also knew that this would get out there, but she was ready for it.

Indeed, the pair appear to have very clear goals for their future after Tom recently express his hopes to quit acting and become a stay-at-home dad when he and Zendaya have children.
Tom — who also shares two dogs with the Challengers star — vowed that he will ‘disappear’ from the spotlight once he has a family of his own, explaining that he will be content with just spending time with his kids and playing the occasional round of golf.
He told Men’s Health magazine: ‘When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore.
‘Golf and dad — and I will just disappear off the face of the earth.’
Shedding light on the couple’s plans to be hands-on parents, the source told DailyMail.com: ‘They do not want to be the couple who has nannies and babysitters taking care of their children.
‘One of them will always be there with their children when they do have kids.’
The insider added: ‘They want to have the traditional family, and they currently do not have a team at home. It is just them and this is how they prefer it.’

Zendaya immediately sparked engagement rumors after she flashed a massive diamond ring on her wedding finger.
While her burnt tangerine Louis Vuitton gown and her new bob hairstyle certainly turned heads, it was the stunning solitaire diamond ring on her left hand that had everyone talking – and it has been valued at $500,000.
Others were quick to notice it looked similar to engagement ring designs by London based jeweler Jessica McCormack.
Jessica’s page posted a snap of a similar ring back in September describing it as an east–west cushion ring.
Laura Taylor, jeweler specializing in engagement and wedding rings at Lorel Diamonds has estimated it could be worth around $500,000.
She told DailyMail.com: ‘The ring itself features a sizable diamond, likely in the 5–6 carat range, set on a simple yellow gold band.’
Zendaya and Tom met on the set of Spider-man: Homecoming in 2017, but predominantly keep their relationship out of the public eye.
Tom previously revealed the reason he keeps his relationship with girlfriend Zendaya so private is because their bond is the ‘thing he keeps most sacred.’
Last year, he said on Jay Shetty’s podcast: ‘My relationship is the thing I keep most sacred. I don’t talk about it. I try my best to keep it as private as possible.’
‘We both feel like that is the healthiest way for us to move on as a couple, so I do try to keep as removed from Hollywood as possible.’
