Hollywood star Tom Hardy fiercely defends small Welsh town as he cheekily tells presenter off in a VERY chaotic radio interview

Tom Hardy fiercely defended Barry Island’s famous ghost train as he cheekily told off a radio presenter during a very chaotic radio interview.

The Hollywood legend, 47, – who has been filming a project in Wales this year – made an appearance on The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X, where he was interviewed by co-host Dominic Byrne.

The Peaky Blinders alum began revealing he was a ‘massive’ fan of the radio show.

Shortly after, presenter Dominic asked of his time in Wales recently: ‘People were saying they spotted you on Barry Island.

‘And apparently you were on the ghost train, is that true?,’ to which Tom replied: ‘I don’t know.’

‘Okay, because I’ve been on ghost train, and it’s one of the scariest,’ Dominic added.

The Legend actor then quipped: ‘Hang on a minute, it’s brought it back to me. It’s brought it back to me. It goes around in a loop and comes back out on the left?

‘Yes, I’ve been on that,’ while the host admitted: ‘And the guy running the ride is actually scarier than the ride itself.’

But Tom looked serious as he quipped: ‘I wouldn’t say that.’

    ‘Right,’ said Dominic.

‘You can’t say that,’ remarked hilariously the Venom star.

‘Because he might be listening, and that’s just a terrible thing to say about Barry Island, isn’t it, when you think about it? I feel I should defend him immediately.’

‘That’s wrong. I had a great time on Barry Island.’

‘I went with my family, and there’s also the two penny machines. You know, the slidey machines?,’ which Dominic quickly recalled.

As the host defined the island's ghost train the 'scariest', he asked Tom: 'Have you weened yourself off the two penny machines?' to which Tom simply replied: ''I don't talk about that, no. It's none of your business'

‘They are incredible,’ before adding: ‘They’re not healthy, okay? So, in moderation. But they are good fun.’

Continuing to dig with saucy questions, Dominic asked:’Have you weened yourself off the two penny machines…’

‘I don’t talk about that, no. It’s none of your business,’ the Inception favourite quipped.

‘You’re absolutely right. I don’t want to pry, Tom,’ the host apologised while Tom replied promptly: ‘Then don’t.’

‘I won’t,’ Dominic assured, before Tom moved on saying: ‘Next question.’

Other familiar faces in the drama include Downton Abbey’s Joanne Froggatt as Tom’s on-screen wife, Jan and Peaky Blinders’ Paddy Considine as the Harrigans’ son Kevin.

The series also features a supporting cast including Top Boy’s Jasmine Jobson, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Geoff Bell, Daniel Betts, Lisa Dwan, and Emily Barber.

The series had been referenced under two different working titles, The Associate and Fixer, before landing on MobLand.

Helen and Pierce first co-starred in the 1980 gangster movie The Long Good Friday, and more recently filmed a movie adaptation of Richard Osman’s bestseller The Thursday Murder Club.

Meanwhile Venom star Tom is executive producer of MobLand, with episodes directed by gangster specialist Guy, known for films such as Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Netflix hit The Gentlemen.

The production had a bumpy ride, including camera equipment being stolen last November.

Two men in a Toyota Prius distracted the crew by asking for directions before speeding off with the expensive kit.

Speaking about the incident, a source told The Sun: ‘Their questions distracted people and at that moment, the other bloke jumped out and grabbed a bag of camera equipment that was on the side of the road.

‘He jumped back in the car and they sped off. The security guards started going bananas because they’d basically been robbed in broad daylight. It was pretty embarrassing and a costly mistake. The kit on those films isn’t cheap.’

It was also previously reported Tom offered to pay the wages of the crew after a construction company went into liquidation.

Around 50 freelance building workers were left devastated after Helix 3D, the company contracted to build sets, went bust.

According to The Times, the company then refused to pay out £250,000 of wages ahead of Christmas, and its chief executive Brian Dowling sent out the devastating message saying their pay would likely not be in their accounts before the New Year.

It wasn’t until star Tom stepped in and offered to pay the workers’ wages that Paramount resolved the situation and set about sorting their pay checks.

Tom is set for a busy few months and will also star in Havoc in Spring of this year which will come to Netflix. It follows the story of a detective who is on a mission to rescue a politician’s son – and Tom has taken on the role of protagonist Walker.

Cassie announced she was expecting her third child with a sweet Instagram post last month as she showed off her blossoming baby bump while posing with children Frankie, four, and Sunny, two.

Alongside the adorable shot, she shared a pregnancy emoji, blue heart and wrote: ‘#3’.

Alex and Cassie wed during an intimate ceremony in August 2019 and welcomed their first baby, daughter Frankie, two months after their wedding. Their second daughter, Sunny, was born in March 2021.

Cassie’s joyous baby news came three months after she played a pivotal role in the downfall of her ex-boyfriend Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs after she accused him of repeated physical abuse and rape in a bombshell $30million lawsuit.

Disgraced rapper Combs, 54, is currently behind bars after he was charged with a host of sex trafficking and racketeering offenses following his September 16 arrest. As it stands, he will remain in prison ahead of his May 2025 trial.

R&B singer Cassie had been in a long-term on-off relationship with Combs for 11 years.

They secretly started dating in 2007, two years after first meeting when Cassie was just 19. Their romance became public knowledge in 2012 and they split six years later in 2018.

Cassie filed a lawsuit against Combs for ‘rape, and of repeated physical abuse over about a decade’ on November 16, 2023, which indirectly explained her musical elusiveness.

In the filing, she claimed that just before the end of their relationship, he forced his way into her home and raped her.

Her lawsuit described in detail how he allegedly drugged her, intimidated her and forced her to have sex with male sex workers in front of him throughout their romance.

Combs settled the case just one day later.

In March, shocking surveillance footage emerged, showing Combs violently attacking Cassie at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles hotel in 2016.

Combs, wearing only a towel, can be seen chasing her down the hall before grabbing her at the back of the head and slamming her into the ground.

Cassie addressed the chilling video in a statement, which read: ‘Thank you for all of the love and support from my family, friends, strangers and those I have yet to meet.

‘The outpouring of love has created a place for my younger self to settle and feel safe now, but this is only the beginning.

‘Domestic Violence is the issue. It broke me down to someone I never thought I would become. With a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be recovering from my past.’

Tom Hardy and Guy Ritchie looked serious as they shot scenes for their upcoming crime drama The Associate.

Written by Ronan Bennett, The Associate is executive produced by the Venom star, 47, with some episodes directed by gangster filmmaker Guy.

Tom also stars in the series as the titular ‘associate’ Harry Da Souza, who works as a fixer for the Harrigan family.

Filming is currently underway in London for the series – which has been referenced under two different working titles, The Associate and Fixer.

Long-time friends Tom and Guy were spotted filming together on the streets of London on Saturday.

The filming snaps come after the production suffered a blow back in November when camera equipment was robbed by thieves in broad daylight.

In the snaps of the new scenes, Tom and Guy reached a compromise as they managed to feature both of their preferred car makes in the shots.

Guy, a loyal fan of Range Rovers, and Tom, an Audi enthusiast, ensured both luxury vehicles featured prominently, with the director arriving in a sleek Range Rover, while the actor took the wheel of an Audi.

In other snaps, Tom was seen coming out of a building with the sign ‘Moody’s Boxing Gym’.

Plans for Ronan and Guy’s new series were first revealed this year, with the Lock Stock director also signing up Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan to star in it.

The synopsis says it will follow the story of ‘two generations of gangsters, the businesses they run, the complex relationships they weave, and the man they call upon to fix their problems’.

It comes after thieves managed to escape with the film set’s camera equipment, while production crew and security were on site in London.

However, the Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels director is said to to be furious after the thieves returned and once again succeeded in stealing thousands worth of expensive equipment.

An insider told The Sun: ‘These guys are scum and after the first robbery they came back and did it all over again. The second time around they made off with camera lenses and some kit that was worth massive money.

‘They’ll be making a lot of cash if they can somehow sell it on. The fact the production has been caught out twice makes a total mockery of the security firm and they have been given their marching orders.

‘The Associate is being filmed in and around the city streets and naturally there are risks, but this is hugely embarrassing. Guy is confident it won’t throw filming off but it’s been a hard lesson for everyone involved.’

MailOnline contacted representatives for Guy Ritchie for comment.

The Snatch filmmaker will be counting on the show to be a hit following the success of his drama The Gentleman, which was released earlier this year.

Back in July, the hit series broke record views on Netflix after it reached 44 million views in just four weeks.

It seems Netflix bosses are eager to bring a sequel to screens – potentially reuniting the main stars which include Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Ray Winstone, as well as Daniel Ings and Vinnie Jones.

The action comedy show is reportedly ‘already in talks to deliver a second series’ – as ‘Netflix chiefs are keen for a sequel’.

Venom 3: The Last Dance held on to the box office crown for the third week in a row, but got some competition from a variety of newcomers, including a new Christmas film.

The third and final installment in the Tom Hardy–led comic book trilogy pulled in  $16.2 million over the weekend, but revenues were down 37 percent from the week before.

Overall, the action adventure starring the Hollywood hunk has been a big winner for Sony, grabbing more than $394 million globally.

Entering the contest in second place was The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

Judy Greer stars as a busy mom and the chairman of the annual Christmas pageant in her small town in the movie based on the popular 1972 children’s novel by the same name.

The season of love becomes a little more tense when a family of unruly kids decide they want to take all the parts in the annual celebration heralding the birth of Jesus.

The film — produced by the Kingdom Story Company, which was behind the popular Christian series The Chosen — benefited from word-of-mouth advertisement. It was distributed by Lionsgate.

‘I just think it’s something that literally everyone can see. You can go to the theater with your blood family, your chosen family, and I hope it’s something that people watch every year and it becomes a Christmas tradition,’ Greer told the Detroit News in her home state of Michigan.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever received an 89-percent rating from critics surveyed by Rotten Tomatoes, and it unwrapped $11.1 million its first weekend at the box office.

Hugh Grant is still as charming as ever, but he uses his talent for diabolical purposes in Heretic.

Unfortunately, the two young women find themselves trapped inside the house with a man determined to test their faith.

The psychological thriller has earned a 92-percent approval rating from the most prestigious film critics surveyed by Rotten Tomatoes.

The Hollywood star, 47, has been married to Charlotte Riley, 41, since 2014 and despite his own happy relationship, he admitted he isn’t ‘interested’ when it comes to others tying the knot.

During an appearance on Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Sian Welby on Thursday, he said: ‘I don’t really spend much time at weddings.

‘I like to swerve the old weddings and the tunes. Just me then that’s not interested?

‘Everybody does love a wedding, don’t they? I don’t get invited to weddings. I think it’s because people kind of know that I’m not into it.’

The actor is father to 16-year-old son Louis with his ex-girlfriend Rachael Speed and then two children – whose names and genders have not been revealed publicly – with Charlotte.

He has played the title role of the Marvel superhero in the Venom franchise for almost a decade now, and explained that he took the part the part for his eldest at the time.

However, now that Louis is a teenager, he is not shy about sharing with his dad how he could improve on screen.

Jordan asked: ‘Yeah, because I remembered you saying you started it because your son loves the character. Is that still the case now? Is he still into Venom’

Tom replied: ‘Yeah, he is actually, he’s grown up now but he’s very articulate in helping me understand what I could do better.’

The actor often keeps his children out of the public eye, but his eldest did make an appearance at the film’s premiere earlier this week.

Tom’s latest film is the third and final instalment of the franchise, in which he stars as investigative journalist known as Eddie Brock in day-to-day life.

Over the course of two films so far, Tom’s alter-ego has become the host of an alien symbiote whose species plans to invade Earth.

The character has been hailed as the most recognisable antagonist from the Spider-Man universe, and first appeared in the comic book series in May 1984.

The second instalment of the series saw the character face serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) and in this one, both Eddie and Vemon  are on the run from their respective worlds as fugitives.

For the new film , Tom’s character had to dance to a track by the legendary pop group ABBA, but admitted that it was all in fact CGI.

He said: ‘There’s a little bit of dancing in there as well yep.’

Asked by Jordan whether it was all CGI, he confirmed: ‘Yeah, that’s all visual effects.’

He also noted that there was also a professional dancer there on set with him so that some ‘actual’ footwork could make it onto the screen.

Tom, 47, welcomed oldest son Louis with ex girlfriend Rachel Spead, a casting director, as the pair allegedly met on set of the historical miniseries The Virgin Queen in 2005.

He met wife and English actress, 42, shortly after him and Rachel have split up around 2009.

And on Wednesday, Louis made a beaming appearance on the red carpet to celebrate his dad’s leading role in the new film of the beloved Marvel franchise.

He sported a stylish denim aviator jacket and dark denim, finishing off with Ugg boots.

Talking about Louis on an interview with Entertainment Tonight in 2018, The Revenant alum revealed his oldest son played a crucial role in his preparation to play the anti-hero.

‘He was pretty much in the driving seat for most of it, and I did use him as my anthology and mythology wizard.

‘He was my little spirit guide in that aspect. So as far as I’m concerned, I passed his [test], and that’s the best I could do.’

Tom and Peaky Blinders favourite Charlotte found love after starring together in Wuthering Heights and eventually tied the knot in July 2014.

According to OK! Magazine, the lovebirds exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony located in the south of France.

The couple welcomed their first baby girl in 2015 but never revealed the tot’s name.

Tom opened up about his second-born during an interview with Esquire in May 2016 – revealing that the first few days of his newborn’s life had been rough on his schedule.

‘If anyone else did that to you, you’d have them up at the Hague for war crimes,’ he joked about his lack of sleep.

The Last Dance is the third installment of the Venom movies and hits theaters on October 25.

Tom looked suitably terrifying in the trailer for Venom: The Last Dance as he teased the conclusion of the superhero trilogy.

The actor, 46, is seen playing the dual roles of Eddie Brock and Spider-Man villain Venom in the teaser for the final instalment of the film series.

It becomes apparent that the duo will be forced to deal with an alien from Venom’s home planet, at the same time as being hunted by government.

A teaser for the film’s plot reads: ‘Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.’

The trailer sees the Hollywood star once again getting in on the action, transforming into Venom to chow down on several criminals, while continuing to make quips.

Fugitives Eddie and Venom are seen on the run, fighting off attacks underwater and avoiding explosions, before engaging in a battle with an alien monster on top of a plane.

Ted Lasso star Juno Temple makes her debut as scientist Dr. Payne, warning about the importance of keeping the existence of alien life secret.

While actor Chiwetel Ejiofor – who previously played Dr Strange villain Karl Mordo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – takes centre stage as Orwell Taylor, a military soldier intent on tracking down Eddie and Venom.

Tom first unveiled the news that he was working on a third and final instalment to the film trilogy last November.

The British actor and writer — who helped conceive the story for Venom 3 with the superhero film’s director Kelly Marcel — shared a black-and-white photo of the pair with stunt double Jacob Tomuri when he revealed the big news.

He captioned the photo: ‘V3N0M 3 The last dance — thankfully we are back to shooting.

‘And I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams thus far on the ride from V1 to here. All our fantastic Cast and crew — good friends and family — we’ve come a long way.’

He continued: ‘It’s been and continues to be a lot of fun this journey. There’s always hard turns to burn when we work, but doesn’t feel as hard when you love what you do and when you know you have great material and the support at all sides, of a great team.

‘Surrounded by talented and passionate departments and when surrounded by people you love and care about it doesn’t get any better.’

Tom went on to talk about ‘how proud’ he is of Kelly, who he described as his ‘director, writing partner and dear friend.’

He gushed: ‘Watching you taking the helm on this one fills me with pride,’ before sharing how it’s been his ‘honour’ to collaborate with her.

He went on: ‘Your instincts are always spot on. First class — I back you. 100%. As always. And I absolutely love working with you and watching you take on bigger challenges every time.’

Tinie took to social media to share a series of snaps of him wearing his medal as he celebrated his win with his team.

He also shared footage of himself grappling his opponent on the mat.

The triumphant rapper captioned his post writing: ‘REORG OPEN 2024 No Gi Gold! OSSSSSSSSS.’

So good he is at the sport that UFC fighter Conor McGregor heaped praise on him last year after he bagged another gold medal at the English BJJ Open.

Opening up about his love of jiu-jitsu back in 2022, Tinie said in an interview with Reorg Charity: ‘I got into jiu-jitsu a couple of years ago and it is incredible but really tough. I had done other martial arts before and a bit of boxing, but this really takes it to another level.

‘Nothing can quite describe what it feels like to have somebody spend five minutes trying really hard to choke you unconscious. But if you can get through that, you can get through anything.

‘The vibe is great because everyone is focused on getting better and they are all helping each other out. It sounds strange – helping each other out and beating each other up. It is all part of the fun!’

Tinie follows in the footsteps of film star Tom Hardy who proved he was a real life action star after winning two gold medals in a charity Jiu-Jitsu championship in 2022 – with his Army veteran opponent Danny Appleton admitting he had to ‘tap out’ before his arm was broken.

Footage of the actor emerged showing him dominating the competition and winning all his matches at the REORG Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship at Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton.

Teesside-native Danny revealed he didn’t realise his opponent would be the Peaky Blinders star, who is a fellow blue belt, until reaching the semi-final.

He told LADbible of the ‘surreal’ experience: ‘I did try my best, but he was just a lot stronger than me, I’ve got to admit. He’s a strong guy and a talented guy, too.

‘I’ve got the story to tell, the kids were there to watch – which was the main thing – and I got a bronze medal – so it’s not at all a loss – and I lived to tell the tale.’

The Revenant actor has been busy the past few months following the success of his latest film Bike Riders starring Austin Butler and Jodie Comer.

The film, which was released last month has been met with praise but fellow star Austin revealed that working with the British actor was ‘intense’.

Ahead of the film’s release on Friday, the pair headed to a BAFTA New York Screening at AMC Lincoln Square Theater where they discussed starring in the Jeff Nicholls drama.

Discussing his role in the film as young biker Benny, Austin admitted that there was one scene alongside Tom, who plays gang leader Johnny, which showed his ‘brilliance’ in displaying the intensity of their exchange.

He said: ‘That scene, what’s interesting about that scene was it was never written like that, and when we got there on set and just blocked out the scene he said ”right Tom you’ll be sitting on the bike there and Austin will come up on the crutch and you’ll stand six feet apart for that scene.”

Jennifer Aniston’s incredible stunt double dilemma: Can you tell them apart?

Stunt doubles are often the un-sung stars of Hollywood as they put their bodies and lives on the line in dangerous situations.

The week, Jennifer Aniston took the hit  by getting drenched in oil while filming The Morning Show instead of using her body double.

Body double scan make anywhere from £8,500 to £216,000 a year, with the average salary at around £38,762. Only a select few at the very top of the industry earn a six figure annual income.

Stunt doubles might be flown to exotic locations, but days can often be 14 hours long, not including night shifts and preparing for a stunt can take weeks of planning and rehearsing.

But thanks to the magic of editing, these daredevil doubles go unnoticed and sometimes look so similar to the stars it is hard to tell the apart…

Earlier this week, Jennifer was drenched in oil while filming a scene for an upcoming fourth season of The Morning Show.

While on set in New York City, the 55-year-old actress appeared convincingly shocked when a climate change protestor threw a bucket of fake oil all over her.

Just moments after arriving on set in her pristine look, she was spotted with the black tar-like substance covering her white blouse and khaki pants as well as dripping down her arms.

She looked displeased and made a disgruntled face as she continued to film the chaotic scene while portraying fictional TV anchor Alex Levy and live reporting from the make-believe protest.

However as she arrived on set she was spotted with her body double, who wore the same white, sleeveless button-down blouse tucked into a pair of khaki-colored, flared dress pants, but it seems she never got used.

The pair were both seen carrying a woven, orange leather crossbody purse and wore a dainty gold watch.

The blonde duo left their straight hair down and looked radiant in a light, dewy makeup look.

Laura Butler, from Ireland, was regularly confused for Sophie on set – and even the actress herself said their visual similarities were ‘weird’.

After signing up with an extras agency, Laura got a call inviting her to work as a stand-in for the show’s final series in October 2017.

Cast and crew regularly mistook Laura for her counterpart, with some getting as far as to congratulate her on her recent engagement before realising their mistake.

But it wasn’t until Sophie revealed in an interview that singer Joe had ‘tried to kiss her body double’ that Laura realised even he had confused the pair for each other.

Laura previously told MailOnline: ‘A lot of the people working behind the scenes did a double-take at me and joked that I even walk like her.

‘It was maybe things I wouldn’t pick up or notice in her but other people were noticing in me. It was strange.

‘There was another time when I was on set and Maisie Williams came on and looked at me and then looked at Sophie and was shocked at how similar and alike we were.’

Hollywood legend Chris Hemsworth doesn’t hold back when it comes to preparing for a role.

Bobby Holland Hanton, the Thor star’s long-term stunt double has revealed how Chris pushed him to the limit on the last film in the superhero franchise.

The megastar gave Bobby just eight weeks to bulk up for Thor: Blood and Thunder, the stuntman revealed.

It meant Bobby, who stands in for the superstar during certain action scenes, had to pack on 10kgs of muscle and consume 4,000 calories a day so he would transform into a convincing ‘Thor’.

Bobby, who stands 1.85metres, against the Thor star’s bulkier 1.93metres, had to rely on an intense diet and fitness routine.

Speaking to Hit Mid North Coast’s Krysti and Bodge in 2020 Bobby revealed what the Thor star is really like.

The UK-based athlete told the Australian radio hosts that he has ‘a great relationship’ and ‘understanding’ with Chris.

‘The actors I work with work really hard, especially Chris,’ Bobby said.

Bobby went on to reveal how Chris does most of the stunts, unless a dangerous move could see the actor risk an injury, leading to a delay in production.

‘Chris will say, “Bob, you jump in and do this”, because if Chris was to pick up an injury by doing it, it’s not that he can’t do it, it’s if he picked up an injury by doing it, then it would mean the production would have to stop.

‘That obviously costs a lot of money so it’s a knock-on effect.’

He seemed in good spirits as he shared a snap from the set as the trio wore matching Spider-Man suits.

Luke and Greg were seen standing in the same pose as they held actor Tom in their arms.

Tom wrote: ‘Without these legends this movie wouldn’t be half as good. Thank you lads for your hard work and dedication.

Brie Larson showed true class when she won the Best Fight Award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards for her role as Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel as he dedicated the honour to her two female stunt doubles.

The long hours of getting toned for the role and filming the intense scenes was all worth as she received the gong alongside her doubles, Joanna Bennett and Renae Moneymaker.

‘This is so cool,’ an excited Larson began when she accepted her golden popcorn trophy alongside the two ladies.

After acknowledging MTV and the fans, she continued, ‘But I wanted to take this moment to really say thank you to these two women who are standing here beside me.

‘These are the women who trained me and were also the stunt doubles for Captain Marvel.

She added, ‘I could not have made this film without them. They are really the base line of who she is. They’re the living embodiment of Captain Marvel.’

Eventually Larson let Bennett and Moneymaker take the spotlight.

They wasted little time in thanking Larson for giving praise to the film and television industry’s stunt community.

‘It was such an honor to work on this film and be part of bringing such a strong female character to life and to be able to do it together was just such a special experience for all of us,’ Bennett said.

Moneymaker revealed that she and Bennett grew up together and that they had similar dreams and aspirations when they were kids.

‘As young girls, [we] wanted to be just like Lara Croft and G.I. Jane, so its a real honor to be a part of this character and hopefully pass along some of that inspiration and strength that those iconic women brought to us,’ she said.

Tom Hardy nearly slipped under the radar on Thursday as he went out for a meal in London looking almost unrecognisable.

The actor, 46, put on a casual and trendy display in a tight-fitted white T-shirt, showing off his toned biceps and array of tattoos.

He teamed the shirt with a pair of quirky oversized jeans adorned with a colourful skull design across his behind.

Tom added a pair of black Nike Air Jordans to complete his look and an expensive looking gold watch.

But the Venom star appeared to be putting on a low-profile, hiding behind a pair of glasses and a scruffy beard.

He briefly left the restaurant he was dining in to take a phone call, but his movie star good looks ensured he was unable to go unnoticed for long.

Tom was soon swarmed by hoards of excited fans clamouring for his attention, and he graciously signed several autographs.

The Oscar nominee is fresh off winning praise for his latest film The Bikeriders, which premiered last month.

The Jeff Nicholls drama is based on Danny Lyon’s 1967 photobook of the same name, and focuses on the midwestern motorcycle gang The Vandals, and its evolution from a tight-knit family to a violent syndicate.

Tom plays gang leader Johnny Davis, opposite Austin Butler as young biker Benny Cross and Jodie Comer as Benny’s wife Kathy Bauer.

Austin recently reflected on filming alongside his ‘intense’ co-star Tom in the film, admitting there was one scene, which showed his ‘brilliance’ in displaying the intensity of their exchange.

During a Q&A in New York last month, he said: ‘That scene, what’s interesting about that scene was it was never written like that, and when we got there on set and just blocked out the scene he said ”right Tom you’ll be sitting on the bike there and Austin will come up on the crutch and you’ll stand six feet apart for that scene.”

‘We did it once like that, and then Tom walks up and gets as close as he does, and that’s the proximity you don’t normally get in your everyday life unless someone’s going to kiss you!

‘So, and he’s an intense guy. and so he’s holding that tension and Jeff talked about it because I couldn’t’ see the shot, they’re moving the camera and realising he’s getting closer and closer, and then Tom – his brilliance cocks his head at one point and it just hit perfectly so you could see his face.’

But photographer Danny Lyon made bizarre claims about Tom on the on-set atmosphere of the film back in March.

Famous snapper Danny, 82, claimed he was told not to look at Tom during a visit to the set in Cincinnati where the film was being shot.

The Bikeriders was inspired by Danny’s photo book of the same name, so he was invited to watch them during shooting.

In his new memoir, This Is My Life I’m Talking About, he details travelling to meet Tom where he was working.

However, he reveals he never actually got to meet the Dark Knight Rising star because he was warned not to look at Tom at all, before being ordered to watch from behind a tree.

Danny said: ‘They tried to keep me away but I finally get there. It’s f***ing freezing. I just want to meet Tom Hardy.

‘He gets on set and they say, “You can’t look at him”. I said, ‘”What do you mean? Why can’t I look at him?” They say, “Oh, he doesn’t like it”. So they make me hide behind a tree and all this bulls**t.’

The claims come soon after Patrick Stewart spoke about Tom’s aloof manner on set when they worked together at the start of his career.

The actors were working on Star Trek: Nemesis and Patrick claimed he didn’t believe Tom’s career would take off, partly due to his apparent dismissive nature.

The Jean-Luc Picard actor wrote in his memoir that they never developed a strong relationship during filming.

Ironically, Tom was playing the villain, Shinzon, who was a clone of Jean-Luc, but that on-screen connection didn’t translate to a behind-the-scenes rapport.

Patrick wrote: ‘I didn’t have a single exciting scene to play, and the actor who portrayed the movie’s villain, Shinzon, was an odd, solitary young man from London. His name was Tom Hardy.’

He claimed Tom was more interested in spending his downtime with his girlfriend instead of building connections with the experienced group of actors in the cast.

Patrick claimed: ‘Tom wouldn’t engage with any of us on a social level. Never said, ‘Good morning,’ never said, ‘Goodnight,’ and spent the hours he wasn’t needed on set in his trailer with his girlfriend.’

But even though he described his interactions with Tom as cold, he was also careful to clarify that the Inception actor was never explicitly rude or difficult.

‘He was by no means hostile — it was just challenging to establish any rapport with him,’ he wrote.

In 2022, an insight into Tom and Charlize Theron explosive relationship on the set of Mad Max was revealed by the cast and crew.

It was reported that their working relationship devolved to the point that the stars got into shouting matches, with Charlize calling Tom a ‘f***ing c***’ after he made her wait on set for hours.

The claims were made in New York Times columnist Kyle Buchanan’s book Blood, Sweat & Chrome: The Wild And True Story Of Mad Max: Fury Road.

In an excerpt published by Vanity Fair, members of the production detailed how Charlize, got a female producer to be with her at all times as ‘protection’.

Tom starred as the title character, who was played by Mel Gibson in the first three films in the series, while Charlize starred as newcomer Imperator Furiosa, a lieutenant to the villain Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne) who turns against her leader to team-up with Max.

Natascha Hopkins, a stunt double on Fury Road, recounted how Charlize didn’t want to waste time on set, as she was a new mother at the time and was balancing her role with parenting.

But camera operator Mark Goellnicht recalled how Tom was often late for the start of shooting.

He recounted one day when Charlize was on set at eight o’clock sharp and got her makeup and costume set up before getting into the film’s War Rig.

However, despite producers making a ‘special request’ for Tom to show up on time, it would be hours more before he arrived.

‘Gets to nine o’clock, still no Tom,’ Goellnicht recounted. ”Charlize, do you want to get out of the War Rig and walk around, or do you want to . . .’

‘No, I’m going to stay here.’ She was really going to make a point. She didn’t go to the bathroom, didn’t do anything. She just sat in the War Rig.’

Tom finally arrived after 11am, while Charlize had remained in the vehicle the entire time.
