Tom Fletcher revealed on Instagram on Saturday that his oldest son Buzz is following in his footsteps and has landed a role in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit show the Starlight Express.
The McFly singer revealed he was ‘nervous’ but ‘overwhelmed with pride’ as he watched Buzz’s debut in the show at Wembley Park Theatre
Tom, who share three sons Buzz, 11, Buddy, eight, and Max, six, with wife Giovanna, shared a gallery of snaps with fans of Buzz on stage.
The Voice judge also shared a video of his son skipping to rehearsals and shared a picture of his script with his name printed on the front.
Tom wrote: ‘“This is Control!” – we’ve been keeping this quiet for a little while but tonight was race night and our brilliant Buzz had his debut performance as Control in the incredible Starlight Express @starlightexpressldn.
‘I can’t even begin to describe the overwhelming pride (and nerves!) watching him run out onto that stage and deliver those opening lines and then give the most amazing performance. It was total magic and a memory for us all that will never be forgotten!

‘I can’t thank the whole Starlight team enough for believing in him and giving him this amazing opportunity to be part of this absolute spectacle of a show.
‘Also, a huge thanks to all his teachers and of course @joscottschool who have been so amazing at supporting and encouraging him through the auditions and rehearsals. He did you all proud tonight!’
The synopsis of the show reads: ‘As a child’s train set magically comes to life and the engines race to become the fastest in the world, Rusty the steam train has little hope of winning until he is inspired by the legend of the ‘Starlight Express’.’
Tom and his wife Giovanna met at the famed Sylvia Young Theatre School as children with Giovanni going onto forge a career as both an actress and a writer and broadcaster.
She is currently starring in The Girl On The Train touring production.
It comes after last year Giovanna urged him to stop taking off his wedding ring as she shared a jokey snap to her Instagram account.
The I’m A Celeb winner, 39, who tied the knot with the singer in 2012, took to Instagram calling out her hubby for not wearing his wedding ring.
Sharing a selfie of her holding the wedding band up to her face, Giovanna said: ‘Dear @tomfletcher, I see you forgot something… #stillmarried #stoptakingitoff ❤️.’
The post comes just days after Giovanna gushed over her husband of over a decade as they celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary.
Sharing a snap of the top table on her wedding day – which showed her with her head in her hands – Giovanna wrote: ’12 years since the best men’s speech that made me do this… (but our dads crack up!)

Tom also revealed that Buzz has been in BBC’s Andy and the Band series 4
‘Happy 12 years of marriage @tomfletcher! ❤️ sending you all the gushy vibes tonight and always! Xxx’
Meanwhile, Tom put on a similarly romantic display for the occasion, sharing two of him and Giovanna’s wedding pictures.
‘You may now high-five the bride,’ he wrote. ‘We got hitched 12 years ago today.
‘Happy anniversary honey. @mrsgifletcher.’
And in 2023, Giovanni revealed plans to renew her and Tom’s wedding vows, admitting that she’s planning on hosting a small get-together for the pair to re-affirm their love for each other.
Speaking to The Mirror, she said at the time: ‘It’ll be a silly intimate celebration of love. It won’t be anything flash or over the top.
‘We can definitely say that we don’t know who we would be without each other in our lives.
‘We know each other inside out and I couldn’t imagine being with someone who I felt like I had to put a full face of make-up on for every day, or behave a certain way for.
‘I think confidence within a couple is being allowed to be yourself, and you don’t have to pretend in any way whatsoever. Tom gives that to me, absolutely.’
The pair first met when they attended Sylvia Young stage school together and they shared their kiss aged just 13 – but it wasn’t until years later that they properly got together.

‘We’d grown up, we’d had other partners, and we just seemed to work in a different way,’ Giovanna recalled.
She insisted the pair still make time for each other despite their flourishing careers and parenthood. ‘Because we’ve both got busy schedules it would be so easy for us to be quite forgetful of each other, so for us it’s about making sure that we tune in,’ she said.
‘We show each other love by making each other laugh. There’s nothing sexier. I’d take the guy that can make you laugh over the guy with 10,000 muscles any day.’
Giovanna added that she is not interested in having any more kids, saying: ‘That shop was shut after Max.
‘I just had this moment of clarity, of “This is the last time I’m gonna do this” and I was content with that thought.’
