In honor of the retired English professor, the 52-year-old 13 Going on 30 alum shared five funny videos capturing her wisdom and sly sense of humor including one clip of her dressed as a milkmaid leading two people in a cow costume through their United Methodist Church at Christmas.
Pat frequently assists Jennifer via FaceTime with recipes like blueberry buckle for her Pretend Cooking Show – instructing her how to properly cut a sweet potato and shading her for not having buttermilk in her fridge.
‘You know what I say about chocolate?’ Garner quipped to her famous daughter. ‘It’s just the conveyance to get nuts to your mouth.’
The Oklahoma-born homemaker also expressed her distaste for exercise even as she points out she’s outlived many of her classmates.

Garner – who was ‘born to breed’ – received glowing comments about her mother from her celebrity gal pals Christy Turlington, Gwyneth Paltrow, Hilary Swank, and Mindy Kaling.
The Texan-born mother-of-three had just paid tribute to the Oklahoma-born matriarch on Sunday for a different reason: ‘Happy Mother’s Day to our awesome, fun and cozy Mom. Thank you for teaching us to stop and appreciate beauty around us, Mom, we are so lucky to be yours.’
Jennifer and Pat are still deeply mourning the loss of patriarch Billy Garner who ‘peacefully’ passed away on March 30 at age 85 surrounded by his family.
‘We were with him, singing Amazing Grace as he left us (did we carry him across or scare him away— valid question),’ Garner wrote.
‘While there is no tragedy in the death of an 85 year old man who lived a healthy, wonderful life, I know grief is unavoidable, waiting around unexpected corners…We are grateful for Dad’s gentle demeanor and quiet strength. For how he teased with a mischievous smile, and for the way he invented the role of all in, ever patient girl dad. We are grateful for his work ethic, leadership and faith.’
The Family Switch producer-star has previously joked about her ‘practically Amish’ upbringing since she was not allowed to wear make-up, paint her nails, pierce her ears, or dye her hair as a teenager growing up in West Virginia.
