TikTok star Tea Tyme arrested after fatal crash involving pedestrian

TikToker Tea Tyme has been arrested after she allegedly hit and killed a pedestrian.

Tea Tyme – whose real name is Tynesha McCarty-Wroten – was reportedly livestreaming on social media while driving.

She was taken into custody in Zion, IL, and booked for two felonies including reckless homicide and aggravated use of communications resulting in death.

Police claim McCarty-Wroten was livestreaming and driving on November 3 in the Chicago suburb when she ran into Darren Lucas, 59, as he was crossing an intersection.

She was broadcasting live on the platform when she collided with Lucas.

The sound of a thud could be heard and McCarty-Wroten could be heard saying, ‘F***, f***, f***,’ I just hit somebody.’

A child was apparently in the car with her and could be heard asking what happened.

McCarty-Wroten has shared posts on Facebook about her ‘babygirl’ Armoni in the past.

Also, there was another person in the car who asked if the driver was okay.

Livestreaming while driving is illegal in most places and extremely dangerous and irresponsible.

Laws may differ according to the jurisdiction, but any activity that takes a driver’s attention off the road and hands off the wheel is considered a prosecutable offense.

McCarty-Wroten caused a wave of public outrage after the incident, particularly after she asked for Cash App donations on social media for her ‘mental leave’ from the web.

Just days after the incident that killed Lucas, she hosted a livestream and solicited donations.

“You know I don’t like asking y’all for shit, but if y’all … find it in y’all’s heart and y’all wanna support, my CashApp is right there,” she said, per The Guardian.
