The Traitors series 4 line-up has been announced, and one contestant has a link to Big Brother host AJ Odudu, the Daily Mail can reveal.

Ross, 37, is a personal trainer from London, and was ranked fifth-best ‘muscle model’ in Europe. He has also played basketball and rugby professionally, and confidently states he has won numerous accolades and is generally a lucky guy.

On New Year’s Day, Ross announced on social media that he will be taking part in series 4 of The Traitors.

‘Am I a Traitor or a Faithful?’, he teased in the caption, with celebrity pal AJ showing her support in the comment section by penning, ‘YESSSS’.

Back in February 2018, Ross shared several cosy pictures with AJ, 37, who was hugging him from behind. The pair were on a night out with friends, celebrating AJ’s birthday.

Ross penned on Instagram: ‘Happy 2nd 29th birthday @ajodudu’

It is not known how the pair first met, but according to social media they have been close pals for over ten years.

A source told the Daily Mail: ‘AJ is excited to see a familiar face on the show and will be tuning in to watch and support Ross.’

Today, the fourth series of the BBC’s much watched show launches, and once again it promises ferocious backstabbing and the most astonishing twist the programme has ever seen as 22 hopefuls line up to scoop the eye-watering prize pot in what promises to be the juiciest season yet.

Alongside Ross, there is a barrister turned crime writer, a former police detective, a royal navy veteran and many more in the ‘brilliant cast’.

Host Claudia Winkleman has been surprised at just how devious this year’s cast is, telling the Daily Mail: ‘We’ve never seen it played like this brilliant cast play it. They play it in such an extraordinary way. They all really want the money.

‘All I will say is there’s something new and what happens in this series is truly extraordinary with moments that made me gasp. I can’t wait for people to see it. The producers have the greatest minds on earth.’

Ahead of its imminent release, Claudia says the new series is packed with unexpected twists that left her screaming – despite being an old hand on the BBC show.

The Traitors series four dropped a new trailer teasing a sinister twist – as a mysterious Red Cloak figure is unveiled.

The ad featured a Christmas dinner table as a Grandfather Clock chimed and a candle was put out. An ominous red figure then approached, holding a lantern in their hand.

Speaking in a voiceover, Claudia said: ‘Have yourself a merry little Christmas… I’m joking.’

Twists are believed to start right from the beginning as all 22 contestants are said to survive the first episode unscathed.

The red-cloaked Traitor put down the lantern before facing the camera and putting their finger to their lips.

Claudia went on to explain that while the celebrity version saw contestants keeping to their polite selves, according to the upcoming civilian series, the roundtable is believed to get heated.

She admitted that the game gets ‘brutal’ and the contestants play with their hearts.

The Traitors continues on January 2 at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
