The sweet meaning behind Selena Gomez’s engagement ring choice has been revealed after her boyfriend Benny Blanco proposed.
The actress, 32, shocked fans on Wednesday when she announced that the record producer, 36, had got down on one knee during a romantic nighttime picnic.
Showing off her huge diamond ring, Selena flashed a big smile while holding her hand out to the camera.
The ring with an encrusted band, features a Marquise diamond in the centre, an oval-cut like shape which narrows to a point at both ends.
The jewellery appears to be a thoughtful nod to her 2015 hit song Good for You featuring A$AP Rocky.
The lyrics read: ‘I’m on my marquise diamonds / I’m a marquise diamond / Could even make that Tiffany jealous.’

It has been revealed the stunning ring could be worth upwards of £800,000 ($1 million).
Laura Taylor, jeweller specialising in engagement and wedding rings at Lorel Diamonds told MailOnline: ‘Benny’s choice of engagement ring for Selena is an exquisite and timeless design, perfectly suited to her style.
‘The ring features an incredible marquise-cut diamond at its centre, estimated to be around 8 carats, set on a yellow gold pavé band.
‘The marquise cut, with its elongated and pointed shape, is a statement choice, known for its brilliance and the way it elongates the finger, creating a striking and elegant look.’
The marquise cut dates back to the 18th century when King Louis XV of France commissioned a diamond shape that resembled the smile of his mistress, the Marquise de Pompadour.
Sge added: ‘The central diamond is likely of exceptional quality, with VVS1 clarity and colourless grading in the D-F range. I would estimate the ring to be worth upwards of £800,000 ($1 million), depending on the precise diamond specifications.’
The couple enjoyed a very low-key engagement party celebration surrounded by their closest friends and family.
In one heartwarming snap, Selena proudly held up her ring while posing alongside a female friend who captioned the photo: ‘@SelenaGomez bride era activated’.
