The secret AFL WAG tier list: Who’s in, who’s out – and the hot, young upstarts giving the established queen bees a run for their money

The stars of Aussie Rules may be known for their frenetic action on the field, but elsewhere they are easily outshined by their glamorous wives and girlfriends.

The top-tier AFL WAGs have established themselves as key players in Australia’s elite social scene, some becoming household names, especially in footy-mad Victoria.

But their dominance is now being challenged by a bevy of hot, young newcomers giving the OGs a run for their money on the red carpet, in fashion show front rows, and at glittering awards nights.

Now an in-the-know member of the sporting social scene has revealed to Daily Mail Australia who’s in and who’s out of the elite footy cliques.

Our snitch has divided the WAGs into A, B and C lists, and while some placements were never in doubt, there are some controversial listings.

So without further ado, here are the AFL WAG tiers. and first up are the A-listers…

THE A-LIST 

There can only be one name at the top of the list: the WAG ‘queen bee’ Bec Judd, who married AFL great Chris Judd in a lavish ceremony on New Year’s Eve in 2010.

The couple, who live in an incredible $7.3million mansion in Brighton and share four children, are at the peak of Melbourne’s social pyramid.

Next comes Jesinta Franklin, the wife of Sydney Swans star Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin. They wed in secret in November 2016 and have since welcomed two children.

They’re joined by model Paris Bishop who is dating Essendon’s Sam Durham and is considered one of the shining lights of the new generation of WAGs.

The couple went public with their romance in April last year when they stepped out together at a movie premiere in Melbourne.

Siena Tainsh, the partner of North Melbourne Kangaroos star Zane Duursma, also holds a firm position on the top of the ladder.

The A-list would not be complete without Kellie Finlayson, wife of Port Adelaide star Jeremy Finlayson, who retains her place in the top tier as she bravely battles cancer.

Kellie was diagnosed at age 25 in August 2021, just three months after giving birth to her and Jeremy’s daughter Sophia.

Rounding out the elite Aussie Rules WAGs is Brit Selwood, the wife of Geelong legend Joel Selwood.

The golden couple wed in January 2020 at a private property outside Geelong.

THE B-LIST

While they aren’t at the top of the ladder, these B-listers are snapping at the A-listers’ heels in terms of status and popularity.

Leading the middle tier is Charlotte Viney, the glamorous wife Demons star Jack Viney.

The pair tied the knot in 2019 and share two daughters, Mila, four, and Chloe Mae, two.

Then there is Josh Daicos’ fiancée Annalise Dalins, who works as a model with top agency Vivien’s and is tipped by many as the next ‘queen bee WAG’.

Despite being a relative newcomer to the scene, Nathan Buckley’s girlfriend Brodie Ryan, who is 17 years his junior, has earned herself a place on the list.  

They have been dating for two years and have continued to prove they’re one of the most glamorous duos on the AFL circuit.

Another notable B-lister is headline-making WAG Chelsea Becirevic, the girlfriend of Port Power star Ivan Soldo.

Becirevic first attracted national attention in May last year when she left Australia for a new life in Dubai after saying that living in Adelaide was a ‘struggle’. But she returned home in September, explaining she ‘hated’ long distance and missed her boyfriend.

Kylie Brown, the wife of former footballer Jonathan ‘Browny’ Brown, is regarded as a prominent WAG from the 2010s who still commands attention.

The couple, who married in 2008, share three children, daughters Olivia, 14, and Macy, nine, and a son, Jack, 11.

Rounding out the middle tier is former Love Island star-turned-WAG Tayla Damir, the wife of Richmond premiership player Nathan Broad.

THE C-LIST 

These WAGs enjoy plenty of time in the spotlight, and many are future A- or B-listers. Others find their place here simply because their footy marriages have ended.

Despite losing their WAG titles after splitting from their husbands, Nadia Bartel, Tania Buckley and Sophie Cachia found a place on the list.

They’re joined by former MasterChef contestant Justine Schofield, who has been dating AFL player Brent Staker since 2020.

Arlette Amor, girlfriend of Nick Daicos, is another up-and-coming WAG, with the couple turning heads at last year’s Brownlow Medal. 

Kim Ravaillion, the partner of Adam Treloar of the Bulldogs, wowed on the same night in a floor-length corset dress with feature detailing, catapulting her onto the list.

Another who stunned at the AFL’s night of nights was Jules Neale, husband of Brisbane Lions co-captain Lachie Neale, who showed off her baby bump in a timeless black gown.

One of the most highly anticipated WAGs on any red carpet, she has since given to the couple’s second child and first boy, Freddie Oliver Neale.

Clementine McVeigh, the wife of Jarrad McVeigh, once held a spot in the A-list, but has embraced a more low-key lifestyle since her husband’s retirement.

Jessie Murphy, the wife of former Carlton skipper Marc Murphy burst onto the scene when she wore a daringly low-cut dress at the 2016 Brownlow Medal. Some still consider it the most show-stopping Brownlow dress of the modern era.

Rounding out the C-listers is Darcy Moore’s Triple J host girlfriend Dee Salmin, a thoroughly unconventional WAG known for her feminist views.
