Ariana Grande divided fans with her Oscars gown on Sunday night, having sported a pale pink look from Schiaparelli’s Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2025 collection.
The singer, 31, has been wearing a muted colour palette throughout award season, switching between pink and champagne ensembles.
Ariana was nominated at all the major awards ceremonies for her role as Glinda in Wicked but failed to secure a win.
Nonetheless she has had everyone talking with her red carpet appearances after sticking to a strict colour palette.
Ariana’s decision to stick to baby pink and neutral tones is because she’s been channelling her character Glinda the Good Witch – who famously wore a puffy pink ballgown.
In contrast, her co-star Cynthia Erivo has been wearing green and black looks to channel her character Elpheba, The Wicked Witch of the West.

Ariana previously revealed that she manifested her role of Glinda by stocking up on pink clothing, telling PEOPLE that she ‘had a little portion of my closet that was all just little pink tops and stuff, just in case.’
However, Ariana’s pink and pale wardrobe has been working against her amid fan concern over her ‘strikingly thin’ appearance.
Speaking to FEMAIL, beauty experts previously revealed that her new look was a result of her bleached eyebrows and blonde hair, which combined with the pastel outfits have been leaving her washed out.
Amish Patel, an aesthetics practitioner and skincare expert at Intrigue Cosmetic Clinic, said: ‘Dying your hair from dark to blonde and bleaching your eyebrows will make you look radically different.
‘However, she still retains her cat-winged signature eye make-up, which emphasises her eyes beautifully.’
Since embarking on her Wicked adventure, Ariana has bleached her eyebrows and hair to achieve Glinda’s ethereal beauty.
She’s also ditched her fake tan and hair extensions and has begun using pale lipstick and make-up, giving her skin the appearance of being ‘gaunt’ and ‘thinner’.
Amish said: ‘Don’t forget we have also watched Ariana grow up under the spotlight and now in her thirties.
‘I think it’s a natural thing to want to switch up your look and experiment with changes in hair and make-up/style, it’s just that she is doing it in front of millions.’

Amish also indicated that Ariana’s changed appearance could be due to the harshness of the lighting on red carpets.
He added: ‘Even in harsh lighting, Ariana’s skin looks healthy and flawless, indicating that she looks after herself despite being so busy.
‘Her make-up and hair colour choices complement her petite features; it has more to do with being photographed in harsh lighting that has led to comments.’
During the Oscars, Ariana changed into a ruby red gown to open the ceremony with Cynthia.
