The most-complained about TV shows of 2025 are revealed as Mickey Rourke’s controversial Celebrity Big Brother’s appearance is beaten into second place by a surprise entry

The most complained-about TV shows of 2025 so far have been revealed.

Entertainment experts at OLBG have analysed Ofcom data to reveal the TV shows that have received the most complaints in 2025 and there’s a surprising entry in the top spot.

Four months into the year and an episode of Love Island: All Stars has received the most complaints, beating Mickey Rourke’s offensive Celebrity Big Brother comments into second place.

The February 12 episode of ITV2’s Love Island: All Stars received 1,347 complaints, which is the highest of the year so far.

The complaints for that episode focused on the heated row between Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Elma Pazar.

Throughout the All Stars series, Ofcom received over 2,300 complaints due to bullying and excessive drama allegations with other concerns raised over Grace Jackson’s language towards Luca Bish.

Despite only starting on April 7, Celebrity Big Brother has amassed over 1,200 complaints.

It was the April 9 episode which saw the most complaints, 1,110, in relation to Micky Rourke’s behaviour toward JoJo Siwa, which later saw him removed from the house.

During the instalment, the Hollwood actor asked the YouTuber and singer, 21, if she ‘likes girls or boys’, and when she explained she is attracted to women and has a partner, who is non-binary, he responded saying ‘If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore’.

In third spot on the most-complained about shows list is an episode of GB News’ Headliners. The January 22 installement saw presenter Josh Howie, while discussing a sermon given by a US bishop, appear to suggest the LGBT community included paedophiles.

Howie has since said his programme is a comedy show and his comment was intended as a ‘joke about paedophilia in the church’.

The Brit Awards ceremony in February prompted 825 complaints, with the majority involving Sabrina Carpenter’s pre-watershed opening performance and Charli XCX’s outfit.

In a January 2 episode of Good Morning Britain’s Adil Ray sparked outrage for ‘fat-shaming’ Luke Littler live on the show, leading to 311 complaints made to Ofcom. The moment came in at number eight on the list.

Jake Ashton, Entertainment Expert at OLBG, has commented on the findings.

‘Although we’re only four months into 2025, there have already been some controversial TV moments which have left viewers enraged and upset.

‘As part of our latest research, we wanted to reveal the TV shows that have resulted in the most Ofcom complaints from viewers, between the start of the year and now..

The research has also revealed that news programmes have caused quite a stir since the start of 2025.

Between Good Morning Britain and GB News, over 1,000 complaints have been made about guest interviews and coverage of news topics.

Meanwhile, The Grand National was the only sporting event to receive complaints so far this year.

During the live coverage of the famous race, 124 complaints were made. Viewers were left distressed after Broadway Boy’s fall was shown.
