Controversial Block stars Paige Beechey and Jesse Maguire are reportedly set to make a shock return to the reality show.
After their withdrawal from the show following a string of rows, it has been claimed that they will be returning for a cameo before the 20th series comes to a close.
The news comes after Paige took aim at the Channel Nine show in a series of scathing comments on TikTok as she slammed the final edit which made it to air.
Amid the controversy, a production insider has told Yahoo Lifestyle that engaged couple Jesse and Paige filmed a surprise cameo before the series began airing.
The insider claimed Nine’s decision to film the cameo before the pair had watched their episodes was ‘sneaky’, in an apparent reference to Paige’s explosive TikToks.
‘It was a sneaky tactic of Channel Nine to have them back and film something before the controversial couple watched the show with the rest of Australia as their feelings have changed since they’ve watched their edit,’ the unnamed source said.
The insider said the pair were happy to film their surprise scenes, claiming they had been back to the production’s Phillip Island location twice since leaving the show.
‘Jesse and Paige agreed to return five weeks later and were more than happy to come back,’ the insider claimed.

They also alleged the new scenes would illustrate how much the pair ‘love the show’ despite Paige’s recent social media spray.
‘Would they have come back if they asked them now? I guess that answer is pretty clear if you are following Paige’s social media,’ they added.
Daily Mail Australia has reached out to Nine for comment.
Paige and Jesse, who were dubbed the series ‘villains’, decided to withdraw from the renovation competition after a difficult few weeks which involved some explosive rows.
In scenes which aired earlier this month, the couple made a tearful exit after producers were forced to intervene and urge them to speak to psychologists.
Following their shock exit, host Scott Cam revealed the pair’s decision was theirs alone, clapping back at claims they were asked to leave.
In a video posted to 9Now, Scott said producers had a ‘duty of care’ to the couple.

‘We’ve always said we’re not doing anything important here, we’re just renovating,’ Scott said in the video.
‘Health, wellbeing, happiness, always comes first on The Block. We always make sure contestants’ wellbeing is number one.’
However, earlier this week, Paige then launched an explosive spray at producers on TikTok, claiming the way they handled her deteriorating mental health was ‘gross’.
‘But the way they handled that whole mental health departure was such a gross display of a TV show trying to cash grab for, like relevancy,’ she said in the video.
‘It’s really clear that they’re trying to step into their ‘woke’ era and this was very opportunistic for them at the expense of mental health.’
She claimed the pair had a good relationship with producers who she said referred to her as the ‘Energizer Bunny’, but said it was a different story post-production.
She furiously slammed producers for her ‘horrific’ experience on the show and accused the show of editing her scenes to make her look ‘crazy’.
‘They did that by literally putting full sentences in my mouth, and that’s what we like to call Frankenbites,’ she said.
‘They were chopping bits and bobs from everywhere and just smooshing them together so everything was in the context that they wanted, but it was glaringly obvious that things weren’t matching up.
‘They were just blatantly cutting conversations to make me look crazy. So we were quite frustrated with the first two weeks of how we were depicted. We were just sitting there like, ‘What?’

‘I really tried to push all my mental health to the side, but anything was setting me off. Any little thing — I was nervous, anxious, paranoid all day, but I really did try my hardest to be okay,’ she went on.
A Nine spokesperson said: ‘Nine and Cavalier Television takes its obligations in respect to the health and wellbeing of the participants of this program extremely seriously.
‘Nine has a service for all participants should they like or need individual and confidential psychological support.
‘This service gives participants access to clinicians who have been specifically engaged to support those involved in the program in relation to their experiences.
‘This service is available to all participants during filming, broadcast and once the program has ended for as long as they need it, it does not end.’
