Fiona Falkiner has shared her pain over being separated from her two young children after her split with ex-wife Hayley Willis.

Sharing an emotional clip to her stories on Monday, the former model said that being apart from her sons was ‘not her choice’.

The former Biggest Loser star, 42, wed Hayley, a former Nine sports presenter, in 2022.

The pair confirmed their break-up in October after a seven-year relationship.

‘I’m so excited. I’m on my way back to Sydney to see my boys,’ Fiona gushed in the video she posted to Instagram as she prepared to leave Melbourne airport.

She continued: ‘Just for any other mum out there going through this, you know exactly how I’m feeling being separated from [my boys] when it’s not really by choice – it’s just the way it is.

‘It’s just been so hard I just cannot wait to grab them and squeeze them and never let them go.’

She also posted a photo of herself sitting on the plane and included another message detailing her anguish and offering support to other parents going through a similar experience.

‘No one prepares you for how hard it is to be away from your kids when your life has always revolved around them,’ she wrote.

‘The days without work or distraction can leave you feeling empty and questioning yourself.

‘Not being there to cuddle them and kiss them goodnight can ache in a way words can’t quite explain. If this is your first time walking this path, I see you – and I feel your pain. One day at a time.’

In 2020, Fiona announced the pair were expecting their first child, sharing a photo to Instagram of Hayley cradling her bump, and they welcomed son Hunter in May 2021.

The former couple welcomed their second son, Spencer, in August 2022.

Both boys share the same sperm donor, with Hayley carrying Spencer and Fiona giving birth to Hunter.

The high-profile couple announced they were calling it quits via social media two months ago.

‘Our priority will always be the wellbeing and happiness of our two boys, and we remain committed to co-parenting with love and respect,’ Fiona said in the Instagram post.

‘We ask for privacy as we navigate this next chapter.’

Meanwhile, Hayley has not shared a statement of her own and appears to have deleted her social media.

She has not been featured on Fiona’s Instagram page since May.

The pair became engaged after just seven months of dating in 2019, when Hayley popped the question on holiday in Vanuatu.

The romantic proposal took place at sunset on a private beach at The Moso resort, with Hayley presenting her partner with a diamond ring.

‘She asked and I said yes!’ Fiona wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of herself showing off her new engagement ring.

Hayley also shared pictures of the proposal and paid tribute to her new fiancée.

‘15.4.19 I asked, and you said yes!’ she wrote. ‘I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you, Fee.’

They delayed their wedding due to Covid restrictions, walking down the aisle in November 2022.

Fiona shot to fame in 2006 as a contestant on The Biggest Loser Australia.

She later became a TV presenter and went on to host the program that made her famous in both 2015 and 2017.

Meanwhile, Hayley was a sports presenter for Channel Nine from 2014 – 2021.
