Melvin Odoom was put in an awkward position on Monday’s Good Morning Britain as he desperately tried to swerve questions on Danny Jones and Maura Higgins’ ‘drunken kiss’.
The presenter, 44, was standing in for showbiz correspondent Richard Arnold as he dished out the latest entertainment news, but his debut got off to a tricky start as hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley quizzed him about the kiss scandal.
The McFly star, 39, was filmed sharing a kiss with the Love Island star, 34, at a BRIT Awards afterparty earlier this month, and said in his apology on Friday he was sorry for putting wife Georgia ‘in this situation.’
Melvin, who starred in I’m A Celebrity alongside Maura and Danny, looked visibly uncomfortable as he was probed on the latest news that Georgia had moved out of the family home, noting that the Susanna and Richard ‘go in hard’ with their questioning.
He told them: ‘First of all, you guys don’t hold back. Straight in with the hard stories.’
To which Susanna replied: ‘You know what, it’s on the front of The Sun this morning. And has been developing for a few days … you were in the jungle with Danny, and Maura.’

Melvin then said: ‘Well, look. The thing is we have all got a WhatsApp group and we all got on in the jungle.
‘The other day it was Danny’s birthday and we all wished him happy birthday, in regards to this story, it’s not my business.’
He then insisted: ‘That’s it. That’s all I am saying on that.’
Richard then commended him on his ‘civilised response’, to which Melvin replied: ‘Thank you very much. I got on with everybody, they’re lovely guys and I wish them all the best.’
