Teen Mom’s Catelynn Lowell made clear her spouse Tyler Baltierra never asked her to put their first-born child, up for adoption.
The Port Huron, Michigan native, 33, struck down rumors that Baltierra, 33, sternly steered her toward putting their daughter Carly up for adoption when they welcomed her in 2009, during their stint on the MTV show 16 And Pregnant.
The MTV stars addressed the issue on the latest episode of their podcast, PodcastOne’s Cate & Ty: Break It Down on Wednesday.
Lowell said she was shocked people thought she would prioritize anything other than being a mom.
‘That’s what blows my mind,’ Lowell said. ‘For people to think that I would choose a man over my child – but then again for them to just think that you have no emotions or sadness or sorrow or any want.’
Baltierra said the notion he ‘would give [Lowell] some ultimatum’ was ‘insane’ to suggest.

Lowell added, ‘That’s sick – and then for me to continue to stay with you over all these years and have other girls.
‘I always say if you guys really were to think that I’m that person, that’s disgusting because I teach my girls completely opposite. And they know that.’
Lowell said that she ‘would never stay in a relationship and let my girls think that that would be a normal, healthy thing.’
Lowell and the Mount Clemens, Michigan native are also parents to daughters Nova, 10, Vaeda, five, and Rya, three.
Lowell said she’s done caring about the rumor mill, and remains guided by her own truths.
Said Lowell: ‘It gets to the point where I can say the truth and you can believe it or not. I sleep good at night. I know my morals and my values. I know the person that I love and care about – that’s all that matters to me.’
Lowell on the podcast said that she was ‘sick of addressing it constantly’ and that this would be her ‘last time addressing it.
She added: ‘I’m not a weak woman – Tyler wanted this baby just as much as I did.’

Lowell also expounded on her statement in an Instagram Stories post in which she said she was sharing ‘the truth, the unbiased, blind truth’ in regard to the situation.
She added, ‘Whether that truth creates a defensive, emotional reaction by some people or not, it doesn’t change the validity of said truth.
‘FACTS are NOT SUBJECTIVE. only opinions are & most of the people hating on us for speaking about adoption are basing their opinions on false/limited information.’
Lowell said that people who speak on her personal life should keep in mind the ‘the potential for very damaging/hurtful accusations’ in sharing the opinions publicly.
‘So if they truly seek the correct information, they’ll listen. But if they’d rather continue to feed their own opinion based narrative (that the algorithm has rewarded them for) then they won’t.’
