Teddi Mellencamp used her Instagram platform to issue a call-to-action to her 1.2 million followers on Thursday.
The 44-year-old media personality urged fans to secure life insurance as she battles stage four skin cancer.
A somber video shared on the site showed the mother-of-three dressed in a button-up white shirt as she made a sobering statement.
‘I’m currently living with stage four melanoma,’ she announced at the beginning of the clip.
‘It was one of those things that I felt like I was blindsided by, even though I had already had stage one melanoma,’ she explained.
She continued, ‘When I was younger I could have effortlessly gotten life insurance and it could have changed my worries, my concerns. Right now there are so many unknowns. Life insurance shouldn’t be one of them.’

Teddi reiterated in her caption, ‘This is too important not to share.
‘With everything that’s happened in my health journey, life insurance is the one thing I look back on and wish I would have gotten when I was younger. Because now, there are so many unknowns; and life insurance shouldn’t be one of them.’
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star added, ‘I am telling you, there’s no wrong time to get life insurance. Do it now. Do it for your kids. Do it for your family. Do it for your peace of mind.’
She then plugged, ‘This is why I’ve partnered with @policygenius to help you get started. Head to the link in my bio for a free quote. And please tag someone below who you think this could help ❤️.’
Teddi noted in the recording, ‘I’m not sharing this information for you guys to feel bad for me, or for sympathy; I’m sharing it because I really want to make a change.’
And she told her supporters, ‘I really want you guys to know the sooner you do this the better. That’s why I’m so insistent on you guys getting life insurance as soon as you can.’
The star, who is the daughter of musician John Mellencamp, said getting life insurance earlier would have saved her ‘so much stress’ and it ‘would have been cheaper.’

Her cancer news came months after she filed for divorce in November 2024.
Teddi — who shares daughters Slate, 12, Dove, five, and son Cruz, 11, with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave — underwent emergency surgery in February to remove large tumors in her brain.
She later began radiation and immunotherapy to fight the tumors, which were a result of her 2022 melanoma metastasizing.
The effects of the growing tumors were present for six months before Teddi finally sought medical attention.
She’d been suffering from migraines but ignored the pain and kept moving forward as she faced other issues in her life, Teddi said in March on her Two Ts in a Pod podcast with Tamra Judge.
The former reality television star has been documenting each step of her treatment and recovery with fans online.
