Tech billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes has splurged a whopping $15.2 million on a renovated warehouse ‘bachelor pad’ in inner city Sydney.
The 45-year-old co-founder of software giant Atlassian was rumoured to have used a buyer’s agent to snap up the vast five-bedroom apartment in Darlinghurst in March.
Cannon-Brookes, who is worth an estimated $22 billion, has been enjoying a spending spree since splitting from his wife in 2023.
This includes splashing money as a sponsor for an F1 team and the acquisition of a $80 million Bombardier 7500 private jet.
The high-profile tech guru was confirmed by the Daily Telegraph on Tuesday as the buyer of the ‘New York style’ penthouse property.
The publication writes that the Cannon-Brookes family company purchased the stylish digs.

Located just 2km from the CBD the luxurious flat sits on top of the Angus House building and features a garden and state-of-the-art home theatre.
There’s also a billiard room which doubles as a second living space.
Featuring in innovative open plan layout the apartment won the Master Builders Association Best Renovation award in 2023.
Highlights include a custom cocktail bar, gym, outdoor shower, and sauna.
There’s also an outdoor dining space and barbecue offering a summer-time alternative to the 7.1m by 4.8m kitchen.
The building began its life as a tyre warehouse, before becoming Moran Health Care’s head office.
James Packer and developer Theo Onisforou converted the building into 18 apartments in the late 1990s.
It comes after rumours emerged last month that Cannon-Brookes has a new romantic interest after separated from his wife Annie after 13 years of marriage.

While Daily Mail Australia has not yet confirmed the identity of the new lady in Cannon-Brookes’ life, paparazzi photos have emerged of the scruffy-chic tech mogul catching a private jet with a female companion.
The billionaire was seen arriving at Sydney Airport on Saturday morning after flying in via private jet from San Francisco. But he didn’t disembark solo.
He followed several steps behind a young woman our sources say is named Amelia.
She also works in tech and is believed to have ties to the Southern Highlands.
After leaving the aircraft, the pair was seen loading their luggage into a car before driving off together, with Amelia sitting in the front passenger seat.
Little is known about Amelia at this stage, and the nature of her relationship with Cannon-Brookes is unclear.
A LinkedIn account under her name indicates she works for a small software firm.
The sighting follows reports Cannon-Brookes may have been romantically involved journalist/influencer Phoebe Burgess.

But the rumour, which was never denied by either party, looks to have been nothing more than idle gossip stemming from the fact they both send their children to the same private school in Moss Vale.
In the background of all this speculation is Cannon-Brookes’ divorce from wife Annie, which could prove to be extraordinarily complex as they divide their enormous wealth and assets, which total an estimated $31billion.
Their separation was first revealed by the Australian Financial Review in July 2023.
The former couple, who tied the knot in January 2010 and share four children, were involved in a terrifying car accident just months before their split. Cannon-Brookes was hospitalised due to his injuries.
But they both made a full recovery and the crash was not related to their separation.
The pair’s 1.1-hectare Fairwater home in the Sydney harbourside suburb of Point Piper, where the late Lady Mary Fairfax lived, was the most extravagant of their property purchases during their years together.
They snapped it up in 2018 despite its intimidating $100million price tag, which made it the most expensive house in Australia at the time.
They also owned a $14.25million home in Newport, on Sydney’s northern beaches, neighbouring the $24.5million estate they purchased in 2020.
The couple also spent $2.55million on a fisherman’s cottage out at Great Mackerel Beach on the northern beaches, which is accessible only by boat.
Though it is not known how they intend to divide their real estate empire after their split, Cannon-Brookes has snapped up an array of other lavish homes in recent months.
According to Domain, he bought three sprawling properties on the slopes of Mount Gibraltar at Mittagong for $12.25million.
He already owns the nearby Greyladyes Farm, which he snapped up for $13million, as well as a neighbouring property worth $9.1million
