There is much excitement about where and when Taylor Swift will get married.
Now rumors are swirling online that a bride and groom who booked an exclusive venue in Rhode Island have been asked to move their nuptials to another date by a mystery third party.
Not only that, but the unidentified person is willing to pay for their entire wedding – likely costing upwards of $150,000 – not to mention funding a honeymoon to an exotic destination if they can take the venue and the date, June 13, 2026.
The venue, many say, is the exclusive Breakers in Newport, a 70-room mansion completed in 1895 by Cornelius Vanderbilt II, one of the richest men in America at the time.
The sprawling mansion – which despite its enormous size is officially referred to as a ‘cottage’ – is worth some $500million. It is 40 miles from Swift’s $17million, eight-bedroom holiday home, High Watch in Westerly.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding has enchanted her fans, who are dissecting every hint – including a rumor that the couple offered another pair a generous sum to swap wedding dates so their own fairy-tale celebration could fall on Taylor’s lucky number
The Breakers in Newport, is a 70-room mansion, only 40 miles away from the superstar’s $17million mansion in Westerly
Others are insisting it’s not the Breakers at all that Swift covets, but the Ocean House Hotel, which is just a few yards from her opulent mansion.
Different people tell different stories.
Several people have contacted Daily Mail saying they know the identity of the couple who accepted money to change their wedding date so Taylor and fiancé Travis Kelce could use The Breakers venue.
But none have actually been able to provide their names, most saying something along the lines of: ‘It’s someone my daughter/friend/cousin knows.’
Making the story seem more realistic, the date, the 13th, is the singer’s favorite number. She was born on December 13 and has often talked about her fascination with numbers.
‘I love numerology,’ Swift has confessed. ‘I love math stuff, I love dates.’
With its 70 opulent rooms and a $500 million valuation, the Breakers doesn’t come cheap, with estimates of up to $100,000 for a wedding before factoring in food, drink and entertainment
Another possibility is Ocean House Hotel which is even closer to Taylor’s mansion in Westerly, Rhode Island
The cinematic world Taylor has painted through her music is filled with glamorous, fairy-tale ceremonies – clues that, combined with her affinity for lucky numbers, have led fans to believe her wedding will take place on June 13, 2026
The couple announced their engagement on August 26, exactly 13 days after Taylor’s August 13 appearance on Kelce’s New Heights podcast, a detail fans were quick to note.
Travis joined in on the podcast, pointing out that his football jersey number, 87, perfectly complements hers: ‘I’m 87 and she’s 13 – and that’s 100.’
Swift laughed, calling it ‘part of the numerology of why we’re dating’.
The pop superstar has long linked the number 13 to her success, from her first album going gold in 13 weeks to her first No.1 song having a 13-second intro, and even being seated in the 13th row at award shows where she’s won – all proof that, for Taylor, lucky 13 continues to define both her career and her love life.
It’s not just Daily Mail that is hearing the rumor of the wedding offer. There has been rampant speculation on Reddit and podcasts, including After Works Drinks, hosted by journalists Grace O’Neill and Isabelle Truman.
On the podcast, Truman said: ‘We got a DM from a girlie. I don’t know how public this knowledge is… but she sent a screenshot of a phone that said: ‘One of my friend’s friends is getting married at (bleeped) in Rhode Island on June 13, 2026.
Taylor has long been obsessed with lucky numbers and the power of numerology. She is known to scribble her lucky number 13 on her hand and even named one of her albums after her birth year
Appearing on Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, Taylor revealed that her lucky number 13 is ‘part of the numerology of why’ she is dating Travis
‘The venue called her and said someone is willing to buy you out of your date.’
Truman went on: ‘She said no, I don’t want to switch my date. They called her back and said that (the couple) are willing to pay for their whole wedding and honeymoon to have this date.
‘So they said yes. They think it might be Taylor Swift. June 13 is the only 13th that falls on a Saturday, and it’s near Taylor’s house in Rhode Island. Thirteen is Taylor’s lucky number.’
Either the Breakers or the Ocean House would certainly be lavish enough for the wedding of Swift, 35, and Kelce, 36, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end she has been dating for more than two years.
But the Preservation Society of Newport County, which owns the Vanderbilt mansion, was clear. ‘Taylor Swift is not getting married at the Breakers,’ or any other property the society runs, said spokesman Gary Ruff.
And the owners of the yellow-painted Ocean House were equally adamant.
While the Preservation Society of Newport County, which owns The Breakers, has denied that Taylor and Kelce have booked the venue, it wouldn’t be far-fetched for the superstar to host her wedding in Rhode Island, home to her famous Fourth of July parties and other major celebrations
The podcast After Work Drinks received an anonymous tip on social media that sparked the rumor, claiming a friend who was set to marry on that date was asked by the venue if they’d consider being bought out
‘The team at Ocean House is committed to offering each of our brides, grooms, their families, and friends an experience of a lifetime when hosting a wedding at our resort,’ a spokesperson said.
‘When clients and their families choose Ocean House as their wedding venue, it is an agreement and commitment between our team and that family.
‘Ocean House would not and is not allowing another party or entity to buy a wedding group out of a contracted wedding date.’
When Taylor marries Travis, it promises to be one of the most sought-after invitations in the country, and so far, all rumors have swirled around Rhode Island, a place dear to Swift’s heart, thanks to her home there.
She holds an annual July 4 party, dubbed Taymerica, at her home and last August, Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs quarterback, were seen hanging around the pool with Swift at her home.
Also there were Bradley Cooper, Gigi Hadid, as well as former bestie Blake Lively with her husband Ryan Reynolds, who were seen sharing a kiss.

While Newport has numerous mansions that host weddings, The Breakers is the most extravagant of them all.
It was designed by renowned architect Richard Morris Hunt in the Italian Renaissance style, with Roman influences.
The Great Hall has 50ft high ceilings, and the grounds cover 13 acres with 70 rooms, including 48 bedrooms for family and staff.
It replaced a previous cottage that had burned to the ground. Vanderbilt himself oversaw the building work, insisting it was fireproof and moving the boilers under the front lawn.
But the favorite grandson of legendary shipping tycoon ‘Commodore’ Cornelius Vanderbilt didn’t get much use out of his summer home. He died from a stroke just four years after it was finished.
Such is the size of the home that it has 27 fireplaces, a billiard room, a music room and many others, all decked out with the finest materials in the world.
Swift would have to foot a huge bill to rent The Breakers.
Rosecliff, a 1902 mansion also operated by the Preservation Society that has featured in movies like The Great Gatsby and Amistad, costs around $60,000 to rent.
The Rosecliff mansion, completed in 1902 is also run by the Preservation Society of Newport County. It costs around $60,000 to rent for a wedding, but The Breakers is even grander.
A couple who are planning to wed in Newport on June 13 told Daily Mail they had heard the rumor too – and were disappointed Taylor hadn’t contacted them with a huge offer
The cost of a wedding at The Breakers is understood to be even more and could be closer to $100,000, before entertainment or food is added in.
One online wedding registry lists a wedding set to take place in Newport on June 13, 2026.
But when the Daily Mail contacted the groom, he denied he and his bride-to-be were benefitting from Taylor’s largesse.
‘We’ve also heard this rumor,’ he said. ‘We are getting married at a different venue in Newport – but I would love to have that money myself!
‘If she called me up, I certainly would move our wedding.
‘But it’s not us,’ he added disappointedly.
Some have pushed back on the rumor, including the celebrity news Instagram account Deuxmoi, which said in a post that there was ‘no chance’ it was true.
The post said: ‘There would be such iron-clad NDAs in place. Taylor allegedly makes servers at the restaurant sign NDAs.
‘Think this is an urban legend,’ it added.
‘I don’t know how it started. I don’t know if it’s a red herring or if her team started it to see if there’s a leak. There’s no chance it could be true, in my opinion.’
Taylor’s spokeswoman did not return an email requesting comment.
