Taylor Swift Urged to Sue Over Trump TikTok Using Her Music

Swifties are urging Taylor Swift to take legal action after the White House used her music in a TikTok video celebrating PresidentĀ Donald Trump.

The official WHĀ account posted a light-hearted patriotic parody of Swift’s chart-topping single, The Fate of Ophelia – but changed it to ‘the fate of America’ in the captions.

Considering the bad blood that has simmered between them in the past, it was a peculiar choice for the video’s soundtrack.Ā Ā

It’s unclear (and unlikely) if Swift granted the White House permission to use the song in their video – and Swifties have now urged the music icon to sue the person responsible for the usage.Ā  Ā

‘TAYLOR SWIFT SUE THEM FOR USING YOUR SONG!’ one wrote, prompting a commenter to remind them the track was on TikTok.Ā

‘Taylor SUE THEM,’ another posted. One other wrote:Ā ‘i would absolutely LOVE if Tay found a way to sue them for this.’

One called the move the party’s ‘desperate’ attempt at becoming mainstream.Ā

‘maga is so desperate to seem mainstream that they’re using the music of the woman they’ve been publicly attacking since the 2010s. lmao,’ another posted.Ā

The fact the song was now being used despite Trump previously expressing his hatred for her did not go unnoticed by netizens as well.Ā Ā

‘”I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” -Trump 2024. Uh huh?’ one wrote.

‘Suddenly they all love Taylor Swift?’ another wrote.Ā

The video also received praise, with one posting: ‘MARKETING NEEDS A RAISE’ and another ‘This social team is amazing.’

One was amused by the prospect of the video getting to Swift: ‘Ohhh Taylor is going to hate you’re using her song,’ along with a video of laughing crying and applauding emojis.Ā Ā

The Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Swift for comment regarding the video but did not immediately hear back.Ā

The video shows theĀ pop star’s lyrics matched with memorable moments of the 79-year-old Republican politician, including his 2023 mugshot after being indicted on racketeering and related charges.

When Taylor sang ‘your team’ they flashed an image of Vice President JD Vance, whose 2021 comments about the country being run by ‘childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made’ insulted her.

In fact, Swift ended her 2024 presidential endorsement for Kamala Harris by signing off as ‘Childless Cat Lady.’

Five days later, Donald declared ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!’ on his Truth Social account.

But all that changed on August 26 when the 14-time Grammy winner announced her engagement to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.Ā
