But fans were left underwhelmed on Friday when the 35-year-old pop star — who is wrapped up in Blake Lively’s legal saga — shared a seconds-long GIF in anticipation of the new music.
A snippet was teased via her website’s homepage, urging users to ‘unlock the newest countdown page clip from The Life of a Showgirl.’
Another message directed fans to ‘pre-save on Spotify’ or Apple Music.
The resulting media was a seven-second moving image featuring Taylor clad in the same look from her ‘The Tiny Bubbles in Champagne’ shoot — red feathers and a star-shaped, stone-covered headdress.
Fans took to X to voice their disappointment, with one person writing, ‘Go girl, give us nothing.’

Taylor created the collection of new music while performing her Eras tour throughout 2024.
‘I would do three shows in a row, [and then] I’d have three days off. I’d fly to Sweden, [then] go back to the tour,’ the singer-songwriter told fiancé Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce while announcing the new album on an August episode of their New Heights podcast.
She recalled, ‘I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating.’
About working with music legend Max Martin, she added, ‘It meant the world to me to have this creative experience, where [Max Martin, producer Shellback and I] knew that we had to bring the best ideas we’ve ever said.
‘I also know the pressure I’m putting on this record by saying that, but I don’t care ’cause I love it that much, and I’m so proud of it. It just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in my life. So, that effervescence has come through on this record.’
