Taylor Swift’s fans believe the star might have unlocked the secret to time travel.
The Karma singer, 35, ignited wild online theories suggesting she’s been hopping through decades in style, after fans claimed they ‘spotted’ her in a 1987 George Michael video.
In what would be the singer’s wildest Easter egg yet, a Swift lookalike appears towards the end of Michael’s ‘Father Figure’ music video, two years before the superstar was even born.
Though the woman appears blurry, she has long blonde hair with bangs and facial features resembling Swift’s.
Notably, Swift also just released a song called ‘Father Figure’ on her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, which was inspired by Michael’s hit tune and incorporates part of its melody.
The video has been making waves online, with one fan writing, ‘She went back in time’ and another adding, ‘The Life of a Time Traveler…!’

Another joked about Swift’s love of hiding clues for fans, writing, ‘How long can I hint an Easter egg? Can I hint for like 38 years?’
‘This explains how she does Easter eggs 3 to 5 years in advance. I’m glad we cracked the code finally.’Â
‘So you’re telling me she hinted for this song 38 years ago, two years before she was born? What a genius.’Â
‘She was -2 years old,’ someone else chimed in.Â
‘I mean she would have been negative two so definitely would have to be a time traveler. But she’s Taylor so you never know,’ someone else wrote.
Michael — who passed away in 2016 — released Father Figure as part of his album Faith, which went on to become a major commercial success.Â
The song explores a passionate relationship in which the singer wants to care for and protect the person he loves.
Swift’s song features an interpolation of Michael’s track, incorporating a re-recorded version of its melody and lyrics.Â
Because of this, Michael is credited as a co-writer on the track.Â

The track is also written by pop product and longtime Swift collaborator Max Martin.
Swift’s version of the track appears to take aim at Scooter Braun’s purchase of her masters from Scott Borchetta six years ago.
Lyrics on the sharp track include: ‘You made a deal with this devil / Turns out my d***’s bigger… You pulled the wrong trigger / This empire belongs to me / Leave it with me.’
Braun bought the master recordings of Swift’s first six albums in June 2019 in a controversial deal worth an estimated $300 million.
Swift complained six years ago that she wasn’t given a proper opportunity to obtain the masters for herself. The singer announced that she finally bought the masters earlier this year.
Swift’s eventual response was to re-record all six albums, with four of them have already been released.
The nostalgic music helped fueling her wildly-successful The Eras Tour.
Michael, who died aged 58 on Christmas Day 2016, wouldn’t be the first music icon to have inspired the Shake It Off singer.
Taylor previously credited Right Said Fred on Look What You Made Me Do, which she described as an ‘interpolation’ of their song.
The track’s credits list three members of Right Said Fred – Richard Fairbrass, Fred Fairbrass and Rob Manzoli – as songwriters alongside Taylor and Jack Antonoff.

After the song was released, the I’m Too Sexy singers tweeted: ‘Thank you Taylor Swift, what a marvelous reinvention!’
Taylor’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, topped the Billboard 200 chart (dated November 8) for the fourth week in a row after earning 146K equivalent album units in the States.Â
Swift impressively has four singles – The Fate of Ophelia (#1), Opalite (#4), Elizabeth Taylor (#5), and Father Figure (#6) – in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
She also has some TV content on the way, with her six-episode docuseries, The Eras Tour: The Final Show, set to premiere December 12 on Disney+.Â
