Taylor Swift has revealed that her close friend Ed Sheeran found out about her engagement to Travis Kelce on Instagram.
The pop superstar, 35, and the NFL footballer, 36, revealed that he had popped the question in August at his home, surrounded by an incredible floral display.
Now, while promoting her new album, The Life Of A Showgirl on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the Cruel Summer singer played a game, where the host read five rumours he heard about her, with only one of them being true.
Jimmy was left shocked when the Grammy Award winning singer admitted she ‘forgot to call Ed’ to tell him the happy news before she told her 281million followers and Travis’ 7.9million.
Laughing, Taylor, who wowed in a dazzling silver minidress, said: ‘He doesn’t have a phone! He doesn’t have a phone! This is one thing I do love about him, it’s very eccentric, love it!
‘But when I’m going through, being like, “hey, hey, who should we call? Who should we FaceTime?” I’m going through my texts, and being like, who have I texted within the last month of my life. And he just wasn’t there.’

She continued: ‘Because you have to like email him and then if you want to FaceTime he has to find an iPad and they have to give it to him like a child, like how you give the iPad to a child!
‘This is one of my absolute favourite people on the planet and then when the news came out I was like, “Oh my god! We forgot to call Ed!”
‘Oh no, he is like family but he doesn’t have a phone’.
Taylor and Ed first met in 2012 and over the last thirteen years have collaborated together on multiple tracks and released their hit single, Thinking Out Loud.
The American popstar has previously described the Shape Of You hitmaker as a ‘second brother’.
Elsewhere the Karma hitmaker also showed off her massive engagement ring — which reportedly cost between $700,000 and $1,000,000 — while sharing how the ‘nervous’ Kansas City Chiefs tight end popped the question to her in his backyard.
Jimmy inspected the incredible piece of jewellery on her finger, saying he was ‘blinded’ by it as the singer explained that she looks at the ring ‘constantly.’
Taylor then went on to share how Travis proposed to her right after she recorded an episode of his New Heights podcast.

She recalled him saying ‘my heart’s racing’ and added, ‘I’ve never seen this dude nervous, ever.’
The Grammy-winning artist explained how Travis pulled off the enchanting setup for the proposal at his own home before getting down on one knee.
‘I think for Travis the podcast was just sort of like a distraction, sort of ruse, to keep me not looking out the windows of the house.’
‘Was the backyard normal when you got there?’ Fallon asked, referring to the photos the singer had previously shared on Instagram showing Kelce’s elaborate, flower-adorned garden proposal.
Taylor replied, ‘Every time he does the podcast it’s not like, he, like, blanks out all the windows. There’s fully black out drapes on every single window of the whole house.’
‘I was like, “He is so serious about this,” and I really appreciate that.’
She went on, ‘But then, afterward, I kind of realized he’s walking around sort of nervous about the podcast.’
‘He’s like, “My heart is racing, I just really want – I know how much this means to you. I really want this to be what you hoped it would be.” ‘Cause we had been talking about doing the podcast and announcing the album.’
‘He’s professionally not a nervous person,’ she added.
‘And so he was like, “Do you want to go and just walk around the backyard and have a glass of wine?”
I’m like, “I’m always going to want to do that.”‘
‘And then I realized exactly why all of the windows were curtained and why he was nervous,’ she explained.

‘It was the best possible case scenario,’ the star raved.
Taylor also gushed about her fiancé, telling Jimmy: ‘He’s just my favourite person I’ve ever met, no offense to everyone else.’
‘The fact that this is the person that I get to hang out with every day forever is just like, that’s the whole thing of it. You look at that and you’re like, “I get to hang out with him forever,” and this represents that,’ she added, showing her ring.
She also shared that Travis had the ring ‘for a long time.’
After the host stated that the footballer, ‘put a lot of work’ into the ring, Taylor replied, ‘He did. He did, and he had it for a really long time before he gave it to me, too.’
‘He had it, like he custom did this and designed it with this amazing jeweler who he made it with.’
‘It’s gorgeous. Even the sides are beautiful,’ Jimmy gushed about the sparkling rock.
‘I know!’ Taylor exclaimed. ‘I look at it constantly. Like, it’s not, it doesn’t feel in any way normal for me.’
