Taylor Swift might be one of the biggest stars in the world right now, but there’s one thing she struggles with when performing.
The singer, 33 was named Time’s 2023 Person of the Year and spoke to the magazine about struggling to learn the choreography for her epic Eras Tour, that kicked off in Glendale, Arizona in March.
With Taylor’s tour running until December 2024, concluding in Vancouver, Canada, she had to put a lot of work in when it came to preparing for the shows.
Clips of the Love Story hitmaker’s dance moves have gone viral in the past and Taylor is the first to admit choreography is not her ‘strong suit.’
New York Times critic Brian Seibert called Taylor’s Eras Tour dance moves a ‘little stiff and awkward’ in a recent piece. However, despite not being the strongest dancer, the singer has insisted that she practiced a lot before taking to the stage.

Taylor has been named Time’s 2023 Person of the Year and spoke about her huge tour in the accompanying interview
The singer said she had ‘three months of dance training’ ahead of the Eras Tour
Taylor said in her Time interview: ‘Learning choreography is not my strong suit.
‘I had three months of dance training, because I wanted to get it in my bones.
‘I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought.’
Taylor ended up working with choreographer Mandy Moore three months before the shows kicked off after her friend Emma Stone worked with Moore on the hit musical La La Land.
Although Taylor admitted to living ‘like a frat guy’ on the road in the past, things have been different this time around.
The musician revealed she cut out alcohol ahead of the tour, telling the publication, ‘Doing that show with a hangover… I don’t want to know that world.’
Taylor’s Eras Tour is quite the workout. The singer revealed she needs the time off in between shows to recover.
She told the magazine, ‘I do not leave my bed except to get food and take it back to my bed and eat it there [for the first day after the shows].’

‘It’s a dream scenario. I can barely speak because I’ve been singing for three shows straight. Every time I take a step my feet go crunch, crunch, crunch from dancing in heels,’ she continued.
Taylor began training six months before her first Eras Tour show, telling the magazine of her intense regime: ‘Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud.
‘Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.’
Taylor has had quite the year, with her also speaking about her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, during the candid chat.
She explained: ‘I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought’
She said, ‘This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell. We started hanging out right after that.
‘So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,’ she added of those snaps of her attending her first game in September.
‘When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,’ she gushed.
‘The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.’
