Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s ‘Private’ Wedding to Avoid Hollywood ‘Spectacle’

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce won’t have a massive Hollywood style wedding, it has been claimed.

According to a Tuesday People cover story, it will be much more intimate. A source has said that the pop siren and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end ‘want to keep it more private’ when they say ‘I do.’

‘It will definitely be a private affair and not a spectacle,’ the source said ‘They both have a close circle of friends, and they’ll respect their privacy.’

As far as being engaged, the insider added that the Bad Blood crooner has never been better: ‘She’s incredibly happy,’ the source adds. ‘It’s all just perfect.’ It was added that they feel like they are ‘living a dream.’

This comes days after an insider told Daily Mail exclusively that the couple is set on Swift’s sprawling $28 million oceanfront estate in Watch Hill, Rhode Island — the same property that once played host to her legendary Fourth of July parties.

‘His family doesn’t care where it’s at. It could be in Timbuktu and they’d go there for it. But yeah — right now is that it’s going to be in Rhode Island at her mansion,’ the source shared.

This comes after news that Kelce’s nieces are thrilled about his engagement to Swift. 

Travis’s brother Jason, 37, and his wife Kylie, 33, have four daughters – Wyatt, five, Ellie, four, Bennett, two, and Finn, who was born in March – and the girls are so excited to be getting another aunt.

Kylie told Good Morning America: ‘The girls are thrilled. They’re so excited they’re getting another aunt. We could not be more excited for them and what the future holds. We love love, and we love Taylor and Trav.’

Kylie’s comments came after it was revealed that Travis’ family are ‘very happy’ about the NFL star’s engagement to Taylor, 35.

The 35-year-old sports star and the Cardigan hitmaker announced their engagement last month after two years of dating and an insider claimed that Travis’ parents Donna and Ed, as well as Jason and Kylie, ‘adore’ the music superstar.

A source told PEOPLE: ‘She goes out of her way to show the whole family how much she cares for not just Travis, but all of them, down to Jason’s kids.’

The insider explained how Taylor has impressed Kelce’s family with ‘thoughtful gifts and bakes’ despite being busy with her music commitments. 

The source said: ‘They don’t even know how she does it all considering her career. They’re all very, very happy that Travis has Taylor in his life. She’s entirely changed his world in all the best ways, and they’re true partners. Taylor gets along so well with the family and they’re just her biggest fans.’

Travis is said to have known that being in a romantic relationship with Taylor would put a huge amount of attention on him but it was a price the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was willing to pay because he loves Swift so much.

The source said: ‘Having the spotlight on him came with a huge learning curve, but it’s one he was totally willing to figure out with her from the start because he knew how special she was. He was determined to make this work.’

Kelce’s life has been ‘fun’ since he started dating Swift. Travis is loving life with his lady love.

The football player said during a press conference: ‘I would say, ever since I’ve been dating Taylor life has been fun… It’s been exciting.

‘Obviously a lot more eyes and I accept that, but I’m living life. Living on a high, I guess.’

The Super Bowl-winning star also joked about his recent engagement.

Speaking about his relationship with Taylor, Travis – who has won rings for his Super Bowl successes in 2020, 2023 and 2024 – quipped: ‘I got one more ring from it … Well, two if we’re counting the first Super Bowl.’

Earlier this year, Travis insisted that he still has ‘a lot more to prove’ in the NFL.

The sports star briefly contemplated retirement after losing the 2025 Super Bowl, but Travis still feels motivated and ambitious.

Travis told reporters: ‘It wasn’t a very tough [decision] for me.

‘I know I’m getting older, but at the same time I still feel like I got a lot that I can prove in this league. It really wasn’t that hard of a decision for me.’

Travis felt hurt after losing the Super Bowl earlier this year, but his passion for the sport remains as strong as ever.

He said: ‘I love football. I don’t think I really thought about it that much. My friends and family and the team and the guys and women in this building, I love coming into work every single day.’

Despite this, Travis took his time before deciding to commit himself to another season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

He explained: ‘You want to let the emotions die down [after the end of the season].

‘That was the biggest thing — you don’t want to make decisions off initial emotions. But for the most part, once they died down, I still felt like I had that fire in my chest to be able to keep coming in and building and be better and chase another Super Bowl.’

Meanwhile, Foreigner have offered be the wedding band for their  wedding.

The classic rock band – best known for their 1984 power ballad I Want to Know What Love Is – have written an open letter to the popstar and her NFL player fiance, offering to provide their musical services for the wedding.

They wrote on Instagram: ‘Dear Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, we know what love is. We spent 40 years figuring it out… And now you guys have too. Please accept this as our formal offer to be your wedding band. Best wishes, Foreigner.’
