The Daily Mail reached out to a representative for the 62-year-old Oscar-winning director, who denied viral posts on X (formerly Twitter) which claimed the filmmaker had perished via 'an Iranian missile in Tel Aviv.'

The post was made by user @TheWapplehouse - who boasts over 150,000 followers - and had credited Hollywood trade publication Deadline in the post which has been liked over 1,500 times.

The site has since confirmed that they were erroneously credited as the source.

's X has continued to struggle in suppressing misinformation and toxic content despite utilizing community notes and their platform Grok.

Tarantino has lived in Tel Aviv with his wife, Daniella Pick, and their two children for the last four years.

He said in a 2021 interview that Tel Aviv is like a smaller version of LA with 'magnificent restaurants, cool bars, cool clubs.'

Tarantino and his wife met in 2009 when the director premiered his film Inglorious Basterds in Israel.
