Take That’s new album, This Life, debuted at Number 1 in the Official Album Chart on Friday, marking the band’s ninth Number 1 album.
The trio – Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald sold over 116,000 units – the biggest opening week for a UK artist this year.
Talking on their Official Charts success, the band said: ‘First of all, wow. We’re so grateful our ninth studio album has given us our ninth UK Number 1 record.
‘Thank you to our fans from the bottom of our hearts for every bit of love they’ve shown us this year, whether it was coming for a singalong at BST Hyde Park in the summer or streaming and buying the album this week.
‘Our focus now turns to the tour next year. We cannot wait to take this show on the road.’

The ninth studio album by Gary Barlow, 52, Mark Owen, 51, and Howard Donald, 55, achieved impressive sales in the UK, totalling 116,000 units within its first week.
Notably 97% of those sales came from physical formats.
This accomplishment surpasses the previous record set in 2023 by Lewis Capaldi’s second album, Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent, which sold 95,000 chart units in its debut week.
Take That have previously enjoyed Number 1 success with Everything Changes (1993), Nobody Else (1995), Greatest Hits (1996), Beautiful World (2006), The Circus (2008), Progress (2010), III (2014) and Odyssey (2018).
The group now draw level with Bob Dylan, Coldplay and Kylie Minogue on the list of acts with the most UK Official Number 1 albums to their names, with nine apiece.
It comes after former band member Robbie Williams, 49, announced he will perform in London for one night only after his appearance in West Australia left fans in pandemonium.
Fans erupted into excitement after Robbie announced the news on his social media.
Last month Robbie released his hotly-anticipated documentary on Netflix, but it received some very mixed reviews from critics.

They uplaoded a post on the Take That page which got everyone excited, with all five boys on stage in a video captioned, ‘Never forget we will have fun like this again… someday soon’
It tells the story of his 25-year showbusiness career in the programme from leaving Take That in 1995 to his struggles with addiction and mental health.
However, some lauded his ‘authenticity’ and ‘honesty’, while others were left unimpressed by its ‘limited scope’.
Earlier this year, Take That teased all five original members will return to the stage ‘sometime soon’ after posting a throwback video of the original lineup singing Never Forget.
The post on the Take That page got everyone excited, with all five boys – including Robbie and Jason Orange, 53, – on stage in a video alongside a caption that said: ‘Never forget we will have fun like this again… someday soon.’
