Sydnie Christmas has defended her Britain’s Got Talent win after trolls claimed her victory was a ‘total fix’.
The singer, 28, scooped the coveted £250,000 prize on Sunday night and will perform at the Royal Variety show later this year after her rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
However, viewers of the ITV show reacted furiously online after discovering that the singer had already enjoyed a career in music.
And now Sydnie has hit back at the trolls in a furious statement as she took to Instagram to celebrate her win and block out the haters.
She wrote: ‘Righty then…For the trolls. It’s heart breaking to see. But listen up. You don’t know me or the fierce back bone I have, I owe that to my supportive family and friends.

‘I’ve been dealing with judgement in this industry all my life. So listen up. YOU CANNOT TOUCH US.
‘Because of MY AMAZING FRIENDS, FAMILY AND EVERY SUPPORTER OF MINE. you simply cannot touch us. Just love here, always has been.
‘I hand on heart wish you keyboard warriors happiness. Its hard seeing people so angry. LOVE over powers all.’
Despite her victory, viewers at home took to X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday to express their dismay at the result of Sunday night’s final, fuming: ‘Total fix. She IS a professional performer.’
‘I believe you’ve got singles and professional singer reeks of being rigged and a fix’.
‘An absolute fix and she murdered Somewhere Over The Rainbow. And she’s a “professional”…’.
‘Sydnie Christmas a PROFESSIONAL singer, with a song already on Spotify. Has won Britain got talent. What a total fix, so glad I stopped watching that s**t years and years ago!!!’
However Sydnie isn’t letting the negative response tarnish her big moment after years of chasing her dreams to be in the West End.

She began her post: ‘How do I even start to write this. To my dear family and friends near and far. There is not a word out there that is big enough to describe my love, and gratitude to every single one of you who believed in me.
‘I pray I made you proud. I’m glad I could give you all something back and something to show for, after supporting me for all these years I’m crying. AGAIN. Gawd blimey.
‘The most amazing experience!! And how lucky was I to have have this experience with my nans. Every single person I worked with was amazing. Meeting all the amazing contestants was the highlight. Best people ever.’
She concluded: ‘Just remember I OWE THIS ALL TO YOUS. Thank you for helping my dreams come true. This win is ours ❤️I love you all ❤️ And LETS AV IT !!!!!’

Sydnie also spoke about the ‘soul-destroying’ backlash surrounding her series win in an interview with Metro.
She told the publication that seeing the backlash around her victory has been ‘c****y,’ and said there’s ‘nothing she can do to change their minds.’
She said: ‘I’m new to all the attention. [The fix rumours are] just not true.

Despite scooping the mammoth prize, Sydnie stuck to her humble roots on Sunday night, hitting Wetherspoons to celebrate with her family and friends
‘Everything has been genuine and I’ve said my truth so saying it’s not is questioning me. There’s nothing that breaks my heart more than to see [the doubt].
‘It makes me feel really cr**py. It’s soul-destroying but there’s nothing I can do to change their minds so I’ve had to separate myself.’
Judge Amanda Holden has also thrown her support behind the budding star, telling MailOnline: ‘Sydnie is undoubtedly a star. I’ve been doing this show for 17 years now, and I’ve been stopped by more BGT fans this series than ever before about our Sydnie Christmas.
‘I know she’s destined for big things. She’s my golden girl and I can’t wait to have front row seats to whatever is next for her. And as our girl would say… Let’s have it! Come on!’
Sydnie is already destined for stardom after being approached by top talent agencies following her spellbinding performances.
