The actress has been in the Big Apple of late in preparation for her first-ever hosting gig on SNL this Saturday, which will also feature Kacey Musgraves as musical guest.
Her appearance is part of her promotional push for her new superhero film, Madame Web, which is based on Marvel Comics that also stars Dakota Johnson, in the title role of Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Webb.
In the movie, Sweeney plays Julia Cornwall, an awkward teenage girl who lives with her father and stepfamily following her mother’s departure.
Directed by S. J. Clarkson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Claire Parker, Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, from a story by Kerem Sanga, Sazama, and Sharpless, is intended to be the fourth film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.
Madame Web only just premiered in theaters in the U.S. on February 14, Valentine’s Day.
Along with the two leading ladies Johnson and Sweeney, the cast also includes Isabela Merced, Celeste O’Connor, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, Adam Scott, Kerry Bishé, Zosia Mamet and José María Yazpik.
Sweeney first gained attention for appearing in the television series Everything Sucks! (2018), The Handmaid’s Tale (2018), and the limited series Sharp Objects (2018).
But the The 5ft3in beauty is best known for playing the role of Cassie Howard for the two seasons of the teen drama series Euphoria (2019-present).
HBO renewed the show for a third season in February 2022, but it has endured numerous delays, including from the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, as well as the unexpected deaths of star Angus Cloud and producer Kevin Turen.
Ultimately, the third season of Euphoria began production in December 2023, and is still ongoing.

Taking advantage of her high-profile work on the hit series, the actress starred in three feature films that were released in 2023, and she has no less than four more in some phase of production or post-production.
On the heels of the Madame Web release, she also stars in the psychological horror film Immaculate with Álvaro Morte, which debuts March 22, as well as the thriller Echo Valley, alongside Julianne Moore.
Most recently, Sweeney has been shooting the Ron Howard survival thriller, Eden, with the likes of Ana de Armas, Vanessa Kirby and Jude Law.
