She also a put in a new suspension and a set of brakes.

Sweeney originally launched Syd’s Garage at the outset of Covid when she was working on the renovations for her 1969 Ford Bronco.

Slowly but surely during those renovations, she began to realise the impact she could have on other females with an interest in automobiles, or people who just like the style that a car like a Ford Mustang represents.

‘I really wanted to empower and support women in the space because it’s a very male-dominated industry,’ the actress added.

Later in 2023 she collaborated with Ford on a new workwear line inspired by her classic 1965 Mustang, which she proudly calls ‘Britney.’

While most people would immediately think of the pop superstar, Britney Spears, the car’s moniker was actually inspired by Brittany Blue, which is the shade of blue paint first introduced by Ford in the 1960s.

‘I’ve always loved Mustangs,’ Sweeney confessed to WWD of her latest vintage automobile project.

‘Blue is my favorite color, so when I saw the color scheme of it, I thought it was the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen.’

Continuing her work with Ford a year later she worked on a giveaway to gift one lucky fan with a brand new car that she designed.

Sharing the news with her followers she began: ‘In my dreams, I can picture the perfect Mustang. And, guess what? My dream car can be yours!’

‘After working on my vintage mustang, I know that no detail is too small.’

The self-proclaimed car aficionado went on to note that after refurbishing her own vintage mustang, she was careful to pick the perfect ‘custom’ paint and reimagine the vehicle’s interior with a few ‘personal touches.’ full of surprises.’

Speaking about the collaboration with Ford Mustang, Sydney told Cosmopolitan that she had been ‘dreaming this up for a very long time.’

‘It’s everything that is me. It’s a mixture between me as Syd, my vintage 1964 Half Mustang that I have, and just put it into this car,’ she told the outlet. So the exterior is this Robin’s Egg Blue, which is also my favorite color, but it matches my original Mustang.’

The two-time Emmy nominee continued: ‘And then you have my bolt heart logo, which I’m so excited to see an actual tangible version of. We have my name on the engine, which is insane cause it’s also gonna be on someone else’s engine. And then you have the custom rims, which are actually really close and similar to the original rims on my Britney Mustang.’

Her favorite part is the starlight ceiling, which she said she ‘pushed really hard on.’

‘That just made me remember being back home, looking up at the sky, seeing all the star lights, and just feeling safe. I wanted a car that gives you that personal experience as well,’ she explained.
