Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried announced they joined forces for a thriller called The Housemaid nearly one year ago.
And now the 27-year-old Euphoria star and 39-year-old Long Bright River sensation appear in new first-look images from the upcoming film, in theaters December 19.
The photos, shared by Lionsgate in partnership with People magazine, show Sydney in character as Millie, a live-in housemaid trying to start fresh and leave her past behind.
She works for Amanda’s seemingly polished character Nina Winchester, who is married to Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar).
Things go left, putting Millie in a dangerous position when the Winchesters’ luster begins to chip away.
A logline describes the movie as a ‘seductive game of secrets, scandal and power.’

Director Paul Feig told People executive producers and co-stars Sydney and Amanda’s onscreen chemistry is ‘through the roof.’
‘They are both such powerful talents and work so well off each other that you very quickly get sucked into their onscreen world,’ he shared.
‘It’s thrilling to see their interplay as the Millie-Nina relationship changes over the course of the film,’ the 62-year-old filmmaker said.
The movie is based on the Freida McFadden novel of the same name, published in 2022.
Amanda noted, ‘The film captures everything fans loved about the book — the secrets, the tension and the twists.
‘We can’t wait for audiences to immerse themselves in the experience.’
For her part, Sydney weighed in, ‘I can’t wait for fans to see how hard we all worked to bring The Housemaid to life.’
And she described Millie as her ideal character — ‘complex, strong and with a little something up her sleeve.’

Paul noted that Millie is ‘someone we invest in immediately as she walks into what to her is a very foreign world of wealth and high expectations.’
Meanwhile, he pained Nina as ‘a portrait of unpredictability and extremes.’
‘They are both up for anything, and we had so much fun playing with all the twists and turns that the story takes these characters through,’ he said about the actresses.
‘They both slipped into these challenging roles effortlessly and took full ownership of them. We couldn’t have had a better time together making this movie,’ he added.
Italian actor Michele Morrone also appears in the feature as Enzo, the estate’s groundkeeper.
Screenwriter Rebecca Sonnenshine adapted the novel for the big screen.
Announcing the movie via social media last October, Amanda teased, ‘I just want to let you know that The Housemaid by Freida McFadden is coming to the big screen. Stay tuned.’
