Sydney Sweeney recalled when she was encouraged to get Botox in her teenage years.
The 28-year-old actress – who recently ruled out plastic surgery – got candid about the moment where she was told to ‘fix’ her face before becoming one of the most talked-about women in the world.
She told Variety: ‘I have very strong eyebrow muscles. And I had someone tell me to fix my face or else I’m not going to make it. I should get Botox.
‘I was 16! Or I’m in a casting and I’m reading my scene and the casting director is eating a bag of chips, and I’m like, “You’re not paying attention at all.”‘
No doubt looking as natural as possible means a lot to the star as she also revealed in the cover story that she is also not interested in getting plastic surgery.
She shared with the trade publication: ‘I’ve never gotten anything done. I’m absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing.’

‘I’m going to age gracefully,’ she declared.
The blonde bombshell added, ‘It’s really funny. I’ll see things online like “comparison pictures.”
‘I’m like, “I’m 12 in that photo. Of course I’m going to look different. I have makeup on now and I’m 15 years older.”‘
She added in the outlet’s Power of Women issue, ‘I play a lot of very divisive characters, and I think that a lot of people think they know me, but they don’t.’
Elaborating, she continued, ‘So when people think, “Ah, she’s a sex symbol,” or “She’s leaning into that,” I’m like, “No, I just feel good and I’m doing it for myself and I feel strong.”‘
Added Sweeney, ‘I hope that I can inspire other women to be confident and just flaunt what they got and feel good because you shouldn’t have to apologize or hide or cover up in any room.’
Elsewhere in the feature, Sweeney broke her silence amid rumors she could be the next Bond Girl — and there’s a surprising link between the franchise and her new lingerie line.
Since taking over creative control of the iconic series, Amazon MGM boss Jeff Bezos has reportedly been pushing for the blonde bombshell to step into the role of the next iconic female protagonist.
The 28-year-old actress (seen on Monday) told Variety : ‘I have very strong eyebrow muscles. And I had someone tell me to fix my face or else I’m not going to make it. I should get Botox. ‘I was 16! Or I’m in a casting and I’m reading my scene and the casting director is eating a bag of chips, and I’m like, “You’re not paying attention at all”‘
Those whispers intensified after Sweeney attended Bezos’ wedding to Lauren Sanchez in Italy this past June, followed by reports that the newlyweds had ‘invested’ in her upcoming lingerie line.
Now, Sweeney has addressed the Bond speculation for the very first time in the Variety cover story.
Asked about those rumors, she appeared to be holding back. ‘I can’t,’ she said, before pausing for seven seconds.
‘I don’t know,’ she continued, falling silent again for another 10 seconds.
‘To be honest, I don’t know all the Bond rumors, but I’ve always been a huge fan of the franchise, and I’m excited and curious to see what they do with it.’
Journalist Tatiana Siegel pressed the star further, asking if she would be interested in a potential script — though Sweeney remained coy.
The actress replied: ‘Depends on the script. I think I’d have more fun as James Bond.’
There were rumors last year that Amazon could consider remaking the franchise with a female Bond — however those plans seem to have been shelved.
Sweeney also broke her silence regarding speculation she will be playing a Bond Girl as there is a surprising connection between the James Bond franchise and her upcoming lingerie company (she is seen in a Frankie’s Bikinis campaign in 2023)
As Amazon MGM has taken over creative control of the iconic film series, it has been rumored that boss Jeff Bezos has been pushing for the 28-year-old blonde bombshell to be the next iconic female protagonist
Now she has addressed the Bond rumors for the very first time in a cover story interview with Variety as she said: ‘I can’t. [Seven-second pause.] I don’t know. [Ten-second pause]’
But now, Sweeney is said to be in contention to be cast as one of Bond’s love interests.
A movie source said earlier this year: ‘Sydney is the top name on the casting sheet for Bond.
‘Denis [Villeneuve, the director] believes she is hugely talented, as well as having an alluring appeal to younger generations, vital in modernizing the franchise…
‘They’ve hung out together a lot and he has admired her stratospheric rise. Plus she has the quality of being athletic and able to perform physical scenes, as well as being feminine and following in the legacy of Bond Girls.’

This comes amid reports that Sweeney is launching a new lingerie line with the help of Amazon billionaire Bezos, 61; (L) Sydney pictured in 2023, (R) Bezos seen in May
This all comes at an interesting time for Sweeney who in the summer raised eyebrows after attending Bezos’s lavish wedding to Sánchez in Venice, Italy, despite not being friends with the couple.
However, it seems the new clothing project might partly be why, as Jeff and his wife have reportedly ‘invested’ in her venture, according to Us Weekly at the time.
An insider revealed the Emmy-nominated actress is ‘launching a lingerie line very soon’, in news that comes in line with rumors she is set to be a Bond Girl.
‘This has been a huge project for her and something she’s been working on for the last year,’ the source added.
The lingerie line is being backed by Ben Schwerin, a partner at private equity firm Coatue according to Puck. The company recently had a $1 billion investment from Bezos and fellow tech giant Michael Dell via their Coatue Innovation Fund.
